DLC not showing under version

ok so me and my friend tried to play a multiplayer match over LAN and it worked fine, but we had to stop so I saved it.  When we tried to load up the save it said galaxy version does not match host (or something like that), after screwing around with it for a bit I noticed that under his version number it listed the DLC, but the DLC is not listed under mine even though I bought both of them

 

we were playing the STA3 mod in rebellion and I am using windows 7 and steam

 

I have tried verifying game integrity, uninstalling, running as administrator, running in compatibility mode, and right now I am reinstalling again without the DLC so I can install them separately (and I completely deleted the gamefolder and the folder in my documents)

please help me

You do not need to have the same DLC to play with each other. Though if you somehow "lost" the DLC flag, you might indeed not be able to play a save you started with the DLCs on.

So I guess first things first, start a new game. If that works and the old save still doesn't, go to the DLC tab in Rebellion's preferences in Steam. If that still doesn't do it, you might want to ask the Armada 3 guys on their thread here or on Moddb.

Holy shit, I think I figured it out, it's the steam overlay

I didn't have it enabled, so I switched it on in the preferences thinking there might be an option or something  and they showed up in the corner, I switched it off and they disappeared again, so that was the problem

 

still need to try a game with my friend to confirm, I'll get back to you
