add ons not showing on main screen

i just re-installed sins of a solar empire on my new computer and downloaded the two addons. they load up and play just fine, but i have to launch them seperately. before i used to launch the main game and then there would be an entrenchment and diplomacy button on the main menu that i could click to launch the addons. this option no longer exists. is there a way to get those two buttons to show up again?

 

if it helps my new computer runs on windows 8.1, the old one was windows 7

nevermind, i figured it out. apparently windows 8.1 makes two launchers. one launches the game by itself and the other one launches the main screen with the "play game" "update game" blah blah blah options. that's the one i needed.
