Quoting RedneckDude,

Well, it looks like the site still subscribes you to all replied on threads.   X|

That's a feature. ;)

Never used to be auto checked. I used to have to put that check mark there manually.  This way, you're forced to uncheck it every time you reply to a thread.....not fun.

RND, uncheck "Subscribe to this post" under the quick reply box?  Post, then check on another thread to see if it's reapplied?  (dunno... just throwing out thoughts.)

EDIT:

Doh... better one for you.

At the top, where it says "Welcome Redneckdude (Sign out | Options)"

Click Options -> View All Options

Uncheck "Auto subscribe to new posts and replies you create" and save.

See if that does it?

I have "Auto subscribe to new posts and replies you create" unchecked in options, yet I am subscribed every time I reply anyway. Even on this thread, each and every time I have replied, the site has added this thread back to my subscriptions, and each and every time, I have unchecked the box.   Pita......

If it's a feature, it's either malfunctioning, or it's a terrible feature.

Well, my Subscribe is still checked no matter what I do. I have to uncheck it manually every time I post.

Well, it was worth the thought.  Ok, it's borked.

I have NEVER seen it work any other way.

If its function was to not....then it works....;p

Jafo, really, it has always been blank, and you mark it if you want to subscribe. Now, it automatically subscribes you if you reply. You unsubscribe, reply again, you're subscribed again. It has never worked that way before.

Oops.

Nope...for me it has always been ticked.

I'm sure Bastards Inc. simply had it in for me from Day One ....;)

I was like that when the "feature" was first introduced. Then enough people complained and they changed it to un checked by default. I COULD try to find the thread.......

Well what do you know, Looks like it was ME who brought it up last time: https://forums.wincustomize.com/443673 ;)

2 thirds ..... if you managed to get it fixed it lasted around 5 minutes or so....and happily went back to 'normal'...;)

I'm checked everywhere also. It doesn't bother me.     I don't even bother unchecking...  :star:

Well, I must be a curmudgeon. I hope they fix it. Having to manually uncheck things, or settle for having a shitload of unwanted subscriptions is a royal pain in the ass.

Please fix it......please.....lol...waaaaa....   X|

Subscribing to a post should be a decision made by the user, not the site coding. Is anybody going to take user complaints seriously on this? It's been brought up before, so please just take care of it, it is not a joking matter.  o_O

Well said, Tom.

It will serve to limit my activity in the forum if I have to remember to uncheck a box every time I reply to a thread.

I'll have to agree with that as well, 2of3.  It's a pain in the sacroiliac to have to uncheck it every time.

Sorry, you are wrong. It was (as indicated in the thread I linked to) changed to un-checked by default. It's only recently gone back to checked by default.

And we'd like it fixed.

Please.

I untick the checkbox and am not subscribed to any posts.

No I ain't.

Remember...I'm here effectively 24/7 365 ....so what I see is what you get....particularly evident when the number of actual logins I do in a year probably doesn't make it to double figures.

YOU may see it differently....because you may actually leave the site...I don't.

So what I say I see is exactly that....what I see.

Jafo, you may be right about what YOU see. Just as Stardock Support knows that their software has different issues for different people, apparently, so does the site.

I run no addons for my browser. I run IE 11 straight up as MS gave it to me. I even disable some of MS' bull crap do not track etc.

I have not had to manually uncheck the subscribe option for a long time, actually, ever since it was fixed before. It is very annoying. I'm sorry if what I see differs from what you see, but it is what it is. And it is very irritating and will likely result in my forum input being limited as well.

Please, devs, fix this. Hopefully before my subscription ends.
