Every time I come back to the game (I have it through steam) my resolution is reset to 1024x768. Is this a known bug? Or am I missing something?
It sounds like the game is unable to save your resolution setting in the rebellion.user.setting file. I would check to make sure its not set to read only or something.
A point to throw in here, too (a few days later...), is that you may have to delete your settings files. I've noted from time to time mine become corrupt, won't save changes and/or some options become unavailable (ie, refresh rate) and I have to delete the setting files in order to fix.
To find, migrate from your Documents folder -> my games -> Ironclad Games -> Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion -> Setting
