Fog of war issue

Good day everyone. Looking for a bit of help here.
So in my last Human game, I decided I wanted some planets previously owned by the Iconians and the Drengins to establish a frontline of sort. I was being pretty generous so they both accepted. But the situation changed and since the Iconians and Drengins were pretty friendly, I decided to give them back their planets for a crumb of bread. (I'm suuuuch a nice guy.)

Anyways. So now the issue is: I can still totally see around the planets. No fog of war, no nothing, just like they were still my own. It's not a big issue, but since the situation changed yet again and the Drengins are massing ships in the area, I kinda feel bad about it.

Is there any way to change that? Some line in the save files that says "yes, you can see as clear as day from this planet" or "nope, buddy, can't see here at all" or something?

Thanks in advance for your input folks.

I've had this too;  I didn't think much of it (perhaps some of your loyal population still sending sensor reports?).  It's an incentive to give away planets rather than destroy them (using the "destroy colony" option).

(EDIT 13 June 2014)  Similar:  ships and starbases don't always reveal their sensor range's FOW every turn until they are clicked on in that turn.
