Just curious who is working on some winter holiday type skins for December. :)
I was thinking of making a Christmas DX theme, and widgets. About time for an original work. 
i have many but i cancelled,there's not much time left maybe next year.
I have a Christmas WB skin done. Just need to use it for a week or two to make any adjustments if necessary and than upload. Plan to upload a screenshot Sunday Dec. 1 or Monday 2
Or some summer skins for us in the land down under

What has happened to all the skins, they are dull and boring lately. No creativity at all it seems, just one of the same after the other.... Where have all the skinners and skills gone.
On behalf of all of us skinners who spend so much time making skins, for free, for you to use,make something better.

What really sucks is now that this thread has been ruined by someone who has no clue to what they are talking about,
you ruined what could have been a pleasant discussion by artists at WC as to what we may plan , separate , or as a group, for the holidays.
Every time I read someone speak out of ignorance it reminds me, and I actually will go read, the posts under my first skin "Vines".
Talk about ignorance at its best.
It takes a lot to put together a nice looking usable skin. Catering to a small group with to elaborate of a design is cool, but for all the time it takes to make a skin, it is better to lean towards general audiences.
That said, you are free to give it a go, then , maybe then, your comments might mean something other than a simple fool ranting.
I would add will add, if someone was to make you, yes you the perfect skin, I doubt you would even take time to say thanks.Usually people such as you only drop in to post negativity.
I was thinking of a Grinch or bah-hum-bug blind, just kidding. I don't generally do theme blinds. so. no, not really.

Snow's done more for skinning than just about anyone...;)
Lighten up DoorTech. Its just an opinion and I'm pretty sure no insult was intended. Snowman's been skinning since the last ice age and could probably put most of us to shame.

I see nothing new! What one used to do means nothing, and yes it was , is insulting,.
It would be nice if this site, it's members, and it's staff would be a bit more supportive of new skinners trying to get better and learn new things about skinning, without the insults.There is not one skin on the front page that is similar to the other.Your choice whether or not you think they are boring.But not similar.
I don't know what you think would be an exciting skin.I try different approaches, from safe to weird styles.It seems unless a skin is from someone from the past, it just does not make the grade to some.
I see many new skinners trying.
I see no heroes of the past putting up any skins.
The masters you promoted moved on.
Give us a chance, give us a break.

There's a little prerequisite of coexistence in any sector of graphic arts....it's called 'respecting the masters'. People who have come and gone before you preceeded you and created the 'atmosphere' in which you now aspire to excel.
This is the same in all forms of art and creativity.
That a person may have moved on...or died...whatever...does NOT diminish his contribution to the craft.
In all forms of creativity there are leaders...and followers. Some of the followers may show sufficient creativity to be seen as leaders in their own right, but generally most of the 'followers' have more to be thankful for for those who preceeded them.
Time does NOT diminish the quality of the 'heroes' you mention....or the 'masters'.
The community of skinners can always be supportive of new people....but not any of them who are so presumptuous as to suggest all those before them are past history and thus irrelevant....cos the industry didn't start until THEY came along. That's so egocentrically absurd as to be laughable.
