Internet explorer 10

Just "upgraded" & it sucks

Just "Upgraded" to Internet explorer 10 and Wincustomize-site looks like a train wreck  8C

No issues here with IE10.  I had to revert to the "Classic Look" for my email and I'm not running it in compatibility mode.  Compatibility mode (the broken document next to the reload arrow in the address bar at top) sometimes helps.

That is what I found out also. The bad part is that even after reverting back to IE9, the site stayed messed up. I have to load the pages several times to get them to display correctly.

I'm still using IE8...works great...then of course I only use it for paying bills.

Which pages won't display right for you?  The forums here with IE10 work fine for me.

Only issue I have in IE10 now on the site is the images in the newest area images on the home page, seems like there is a second partial identical thumbnail image showing up under the original thumbnail, almost doubling it in height. There used to be some forum issues in the past, but WC seems to have resolved that now.

EDIT: Changing compatibility view on this issue makes no difference either.

Well I was going to try out IE10 with Windows 7 but you know, I think I will wait until someone from SD lets us know when the site is compatible with it.

Wiz, look for KB2670838 in your installed updates and if it is there uninstall it and see if your issues are resolved. It has been reported as quite problematic and is installed along with IE10. Uninstalling IE10 does not remove it so it needs to be done manually.

None of it bothered me...

I uninstalled both IE10 and the update. I found they killed some DeskScapes so I removed them. I'll post a pic or two of what I get in a bit. I'm on XP/IE8 atm and everything is fine with it and the site.

Uhmmm, I thought IE10 wasn't designed for XP? Or am I wrong? Did you install it as a Windows Update Wiz, or download it and install it?

EDIT: Yeah, I just looked it up at Microsoft, System Requirements for it are Windows 7 or 8. Wonder how it installed on XP?

IE8 is as high as XP goes Tom, My second rig is an old XP dog that doesn't do new tricks like Vista or Win7 so it has IE8 on it. I was posting from it because of the issues you will see in the snips. Here's the pics I just took with the main rig. I am going to restore from my backup image, which should fix things, but it is a real mess. Only WC has this "special look"

I'm getting code like in that last one scattered thoroughout the site at times. Compatibility mode doesn't help.

THANK YOU!!!

I couldn’t figure out what was wrong, it was so bad I was using Chrome. 5* 5*

I uninstalled IE10 along with update KB2670838 and got all my dreams running again. Using DS8 on Win7/64. To be honest, I saw no gains in IE10 over IE9 anyway.
I got the dreams running but something really tore up IE9 in the process.

So much for IE. Glad I got rid of it and the update. Firefox 19.0 works! No issues at all.

Guys, it's an IE10 issue, not a WC site issue.   IE9 Rocks!!!!

I´ll try The remove "Kb....update" & see how I´ll go  :sun:

Edit: Nope, no such update :S

I agree with RnD, IE9 is currently working just fine with the WC site.

I've not download and tried IE10 on the sites that I go to.  Are you folks seeing problems with all sites or just WC?

We probably need to wait for word from SD that whatever compatibility issues there maybe between the site and IE10 have been taken care of.

I removed the update (KB2670838) and IE10 is working great.

Back to normal with IE9. As for IE10, **** it and the jackass (Win8) that it rode in on. Looks like I'll be waiting for Win9 and IE11.

This is really odd Wiz, as I go and look at those exact same areas you are showing and there are no issues like that at all on Windows 7 64-bit.  I also still have KB2670838 installed.

It's probably not too clever a time to be changing to new vers of IE....whilst T-Man is doing 'things' with the site/forum.  You'll just compound the 'pain'.

IE9 is [in theory] "The Standard" and the sites are fine with that [ignoring any under-the-hood tinkering].

I'd leave off with 10 until there's some mutterings from 'the boffins' that WC et al are compatible definitely...;)

I had to uninstall IE 10. My Shoutcast Streaming Radio in Winamp does not work in IE 10, and that just is not going to be an option for me since I listen all the time and it is a paid Pro version. There were some other minor glitches in IE 10 that were getting on my nerves as well. I would have to say I'm completely content with IE 9 and if it ain't broke why fix it right ? So I'm good now.
