Fallen Enchantress 1.20 update is on its way

Fallen Enchantress 1.20 update is on its way

We are currently working on update 1.20 for Fallen Enchantress.  It focuses on more varied map generation, improved AI and contains a few cool changes (I wish I could take credit for the idea to have Apiarys and Pastures grant faction wide bonuses but Brad recommended those changes and they have been fun to play with).

We are currently targeting next week for release assuming QA goes fine.  we will keep you updated as we continue to work.

You can see the details here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/439150

Tomorrow sounds good to me.

Yes but what time zone are they talking about for 'tomorrow' :D

It is already 'tomorrow' in Oz if you are in the US. So why is it not released yet :)

yeah!

Do you want feedback about the patch Kael? I mean, some of us for example are skimming through the vanilla data files after each patch and we notice little titbits of things that can need a fix, patch after patch. For example Mantle of Ocean has no upkeep, is it WAD or not. We have several remarks like that.

Yay!  Something to look forward to on a really chilly day.

I will never understand the mindset of people who suggest that serious bugs (and nuisances, for that matter) need not be fixed because there are (obvious but tedious) workarounds. ("Obvious" after you reload the savegame and try again.) Even a game should not waste our time.

Fixing bugs probably should attack the problem from two sides: (1) Fix the easy things immediately. (2) Acknowledge harder problems and schedule their solution for some future version. Providing feedback is the prerequisite for expecting patience.

Well in order to understand this you have to study the mind set of the Fan-boy.

Fanboys love a game no matter what. They do not listen to reason and are very illogical when it comes to the game they have fixated themselves on. They elevate the game to a god like status and any criticism of the game they will attack. Criticism of their game is a personal affront to them and they can be quite nasty in it's defense (sounds a little like religion.)

Fanboys can be found in all games. They use illogical arguments to defend their position even to others that also see the potential in the game but point out flaws.

Like any fanatic there is no reasoning with the Fanboy any more than you can reason with a rock. It is pointless to even try, however it is fun to taunt them :)

I can only repeat that this is the buggiest game that I've ever played (and I could even add a "by far") and Stardock is the most unresponsive company I know.

Post actual bug reports, or it didn't happen.

You can't expect Stardock to fix things unless you are a lot more specific then "it's buggy". Many issues are hardware specific so you have to bring up your specific issues if you want them fixed.

You apparently did not read the first page of this thread. He has posted many bugs in the support forum.

GFireflyE-

Oblivion was amazing, easily one of the best video games ever made. Morrowind's story was by the far the best. Overall, though, Skyrim is probably the best overall game of the three in terms of general quality. But how can I fault you for preferring Oblivion when it was so good?

Skyrim and Oblivion as well as Daggerfall back in the day were very good.  Morrowind not so much.

Yeah, I'm all for feedback.

And yes Mantle of Oceans is WAD, it didnt make much since to me to have an ability that saved you mana costing you mana (I didnt want a player trying to do the math on if it would cost him more or less to have it running).

Then there is the flip side of the coin. Those who insist the game is awful because another game did <insert random aspect here> so much better. In fact, talk about elevating a game to “god status”; it’s a wonder these people ever stopped playing this other game long enough to try something else.

While I love this game, I’d be extremely disappointed if they didn’t clean up the bugs, tweak the balance, and improve the interface. Some great suggestions have been made. However, for every great suggestion there have also been suggestions that make sense for another game. For example, there are some who want a far more complex combat system; I think that would be a mistake for this game. And, of course, there is the occasional suggestion that is just plain awful.

Don’t be too quick to condemn someone a “fanboy” just because they attack a particular suggestion or idea.

And then we have the OPPOSITE of the FANBOY....the TROLL lol those that condem a game they don't enjoy. Exxagerating issues with the game. Acting like what they think should rule the forum or the game. lol Both are INSANE of course and are DELUSIONAL. ;)
