okay,

ive seen this for months now, and im sick of sitting back and saying nothing.

Who gets 9000 downloads a day on a windowblind skin? Thats insanity, right?  

-Apparently Not if you choose to believe the current downloadcount.

 

 Unfortunatley I get those downloads, and its just so wrong its not funny.

The first day I uploaded Euphoria I saw true downloads.  The first day only. Ever since then they have been psycho. (phycho meaning

sometimes over 10 thousand a day... A DAY!!!)

This phenomena occurs in several other galleries as well.

Why should I bother to continue to upload when none of the downloads even seem real?

When is this problem going to be fixed?

Its no fun anymore when nothing is working.  C'mon guys, surely you can FIX this?

PS I am a skinner, I am intersted in downloads... for all sorts of reasons.

If you´re not a skinner & you just want to bitch about me & my obsession with downloads then dont bother, because I´m adressing a site issue that needs to be Fixed, nothing more.

the comments above were in response to phoon's reference to 'ratings system sux threads' - hence the quote.

The only embarrassment is the interpretation that such is 'belittling'...;)

okay, I'd like to see all uploads posted without any moderators initial rating, like all blinds start out with 0 stars. Let those that download rate the blind rather than someone whom might be having a bad hair day or whatever, especially when that initial rating carries so much weight.

back on track; blinds have a halflife, a blind that is three months and getting less than 50 downloads/day should not, all of sudden, jump up to over 10,000 downloads in one day. I mean seriously, doesn't this warrant a closer look?

"Aw geez this s--t again."  I would be very disheartened to hear my complaint handled in such a way.  Wincustomize should be ready and energized to do their job after a nice vacation.

Wouldn't that kinda level the playing board?  Then there should be no complaints?

It's possible that some use programs or scripts to increase the number of downloads and then no one - theoretically - can not do anything (some programs/scripts use proxies).

Now jump all over me to monitor the downloads of my wallz  :D

Maybe if somebody puts up a new WinStep theme, Docks, Widgets/Gadgets, etc for it later?  That thought crossed my mind, don't really know of course, choosing to remain blissfully ignorant.

I could do without the ratings but don't think they should go away and really, download counts provide feedback, some competitiveness amongst skinners and adds to the enjoyment of the overall experience. If the counts are not accurate it would take all of that away, bummer.

ok i see..iv just checked every gallery and i can only see one today (Euphoria) that has a lot of downloads...i dont check downloads very often myself so iv missed this glitch ,,ill check downloads again a bit later to see if enyone elss as got a large number of downloads,,,
