Sins Rebellion multiplayer : status?

Hi,

 

I am a big fan of rebellion -the only sins of a solar empire title i ever played- since i used to play it in some internet cafes around here,  and now i am thinking seriously to buy it - mainly for the multiplayer part-

But before i do that i would like to know ..how strong (in numbers) is the multiplayer community of the title!  So far i got mixed answers during a quick research on the subject with some saying that the community are too few to support multiplayer games and others that ..its just ok. 

Since I dont want to have to wait half an hour to find a game in a lobby , can someone give me a rough picture of what is going on online? ;)

Any kickbugs? Laggy/buggy-lobby? anything!

The MP community is still active for new players and vets alike, but you do not see the numbers as with some game titles.  Not uncommon to see upwards of 25-50 games going.  However, the skilled (competitive) player base is well established, but currently is limited to a core of around a hundred or so players though. 

Of these competitive players, many embrace the newer players who want to learn, and will help you acclimate to the game if you ask.

Pretty much what Protoplazm said but expect to be die horribly the first couple games.

Well I will say this, it usually takes more time to decide on teams in Rebellion 5v5 games than it does to wait for players, at least during the main hours (I only play on weekends). ;)

Slackah who has few hundreds games lost to me with only 20+ games within 10mins.

Number of games played isn't a good gauge of player skill. Some players still do not perform well after hundreds of games. 

I'm just average player but just saying having more games means you are better.
