With apps I avoid some crap by changing the 'who can see posts made by this app' to 'Only me'.
Then I do whatever I want to do with the app, and then remove it from my app list in facebook settings.

Also, I've been noticing with 'reputable' apps that they usually give you a 'skip' or 'just continue' option when they suggest making a post on your behalf.
