Steam just updated my Sins to 1.02.4185?

Just loaded Sins for the first time in a couple of days and instead of the 1.03 I was expecting, Sins updated to the title version, with all my setting set to default.

What gives?

Just checked on my end.  Rebellion and the dev both reverted to 1.02.

Sins: Rebellion Rollback Info
Expires Jul 7, 2012 11:08

Greetings Sinners,

Apparently Steam accidentally reverted Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion to v1.02, which will break multiplayer via ICO. We have contacted them to resolve the matter as soon as possible. Our apologies for this error.

Lets hope this happens soon I was looking forward to playing tonight. X(

Steam reports that they expect to get it corrected within the next hour or so.

Oh wow...

Okay rule number one..never admit the whole office is closed...I sleep better at night imagining there is a dedicated SWAT team of alpha techs monitoring the system 24/7. I know its more like the the level one B team that drew the short straws over the holiday weekend, but leave me to my delusions.

Rule number 2...never say your looking into it after you say the office is closed...those 2 statements are incongruent. I mean, I am sure there is a way to do that but I am a little fuzzy on those details...so what happens next is you get smart asses like me wondering..how in the heck do they look into that when the office is closed? Oh..they sent the steam people an e-mail..or worse..they put in a ticket to the Steam level one B team that drew the short straws over the holiday weekend...cripes...

.is Steam the Walmart of computer software distribution?....

Well look, just let us know what you know when you know it so we can direct the pitchforks appropriately. I'd complain on Steam, but they play the everything is working as intended card while they quietly fix it. At least you guys have the nads to post, love the game, will be buying direct next time, F STEAM.

What would be funny is if I double clicked on Rebellion to open, and DOOM 1 booted up.......

Check your cache for Steam.
Thx for the suggestion, but I've got nothing from steam in my cache folder. Whatever the fix was, I may not have got it because I didn't play sins for much of last friday or the weekend

I've tried contacting them for help but is there anything else I can try in the meantime?

In the contrary, please keep being honest. I have understanding for holidays. After all, I work myself and I would hate to have mine removed :P

A post like this is 10000 times better than what most game companies do under such circumstances. I have patience, I have understanding... I however HATE being lied to. (EA, the patch is coming this week - 6 month later - all patches officially chanceled)

Keep it up! You are doing it just right.

And thanks for the fix.

My data update is not included.  I'm seeing if we can put that out officially sometime soon.
