99.8% chance it wont happen before release, and 98% chance it would require massive rewrites of code. but it would be very awesome yes.

Not going to happen with the current multiplayer system, but we are hard at work on the desyncs and minidumps. :)

mini dumps are only 1 problem that is solved by adding a re-join option.

DCs and desync  and even the annoying little bro who steps on your internet cord.

if u could reload the game off the host somehow

Ok , how about this..

Get the auto-sav feature to save every 1 minute. 5 sav files overwriting...

Then something in the game, thats constantly checking that players are sync , maybe every 20 seconds.

Then if the game detects a desync , a message pops up saying

"de-sync has happen , Re-Host from Savegame250.sav etc"

Every player then has to click okay to acknowledge it which then returns them all to lobby to rehost. At worse you only lose a minute of play

The autosave frequency can be adjusted in the settings file to whatever you like and the release build will let you know if you've gone out of sync though I don't expect the game to go out of sync much if at all given our fixes.

Yeah, in multiplayer I think the autosave frequency is set to 900 seconds (15 minutes). I recommend no more than 300 personally (5 minutes).

this or a jump in future, so people who aren't coming back can be replaced by some other player (they'd have to figure out what the hells going on, but if they just need a quick match it'd work)

lol this sounds like an OSX feature (time machine, real-time saving, icloud, player authentication before rejoins, Sync, mind control etc). I think more processing threads/time is required.

That's a terrible justification for a comparison.  Two different games by two different companies on two different engines and massively different budgets.

They don't have to copy the entirety of the game files over, just a convenient function that they happened to implement in DotA.
