I must admit I am a little disappointed in the beta. I don't believe that a few extra ships and technologies is entirely worth the cost. I was wondering if there was a place where we could make suggestions as to what we would like to see in the game?

Yes there is, it is right here on these forums. Though you are a little too late for coming up with suggestions I'm affraid, since the official release of the game is in about a week. Not much time for the dev's to implement new stuff...

You are not the first and you won't be the last. Suggestions have shown up on this forum for months. The devs appear interested in only feedback about abilities and balancing. Adding additional content, changing up the ships used by races, new planet types, map preview support, scenarios, fleet formations, and other things have all gone ignored. I really think they need to push back the release date of the game and take a stab at some of those things.

I would like to see ships randomly lose an ability or two after taking severe damage. Also possibly reduce attack strength....just doesnt seem fair to have a ship at 25% health be just as strong and capable as a ship at 100%.

 

But Devs prolly wont even read this so....yeah.

The problem with this idea is that it would make AoE attacks even more deadly and quite possibly very overpowered.

All the things that constituent important differences between the races have been added. 'A few' extra ships have completely changed fleet composition and strategy and 'a few' extra techs have changed this game from top to bottom. If you don't realise this than you haven't played it anywhere near enough. In fact, there have been complaints because some techs are simply too game changing and unbalanced.

Most of those things have been ignored because they are poor suggestions. New planet types would be a waste of time. There is nothing else to add that isn't already covered by the Terran category and this would be a very superficial change that wouldn't add anything game play wise at all. Fleet. Map preview support would be good though. The maps already are scenarios. Fleet formations would be a complete waste of time since this game doesn't work that way, it doesn't fit with how this game works, it already is micro-light enough as it is. In a game with directional armour, flanking damage, morale etc. formations make sense.
