Beta Rant!

Dude, calm down.  Vasari are my favorites too, but seriously, you'll get them soon enough.

I kind of agree I would love to have more interaction with the Devs. Look how well it worked for Riot Games.

I'm seeing about getting a debit card within the next couple weeks though so perhaps then I'd finally be able to actually get it.

well i did get it only to be let down, seriously who gives a dam about the advent anyway, sure they have a cool loyalist titan, but still.

I didn't enjoy playing as the Vasari until years after I got Sins. The reason is that I think they have the worst sound track of all of them. Can only take so much menacing Jawsish stuff while I'm plotting to dominate the Galaxy.

After I replaced the music it was better, but Advent are still my favorite, though competitively I think I'm equally good (or bad) with all of them.

Point is; yeah it sucks your favorite race isn't in. But the Vasari are the most alien and thus the hardest to make, and they've almost always been the last ones in the beta. If you don't like it nothing forces you to play it. I kept playing trinity until the Advent came along. Get some cool mods for it that make the Vasari even cooler in the mean time!

It's a beta, for testing, to help the developers, not to cater to players.  Granted the feedback from players is helpful, but I say just be thankful you're included in the beta in the first place instead of having to wait for the actual release date.  Just my 2 cents.  That aside, the Vasari are also my favorite race.  But it has been neat testing out this content.  As someone who has worked in Software development you don't add/change everything at once.  You add a piece at a time so you can work the kinks out with that code.  If you add it all at once it makes it difficult to see where the actual problems are.

EDIT 2: The TEC and Advent are the more straightforward races anyways whereas the Vasari have to use their toys to win, making for a unique playstyle that IMO is a lot harder to balance.  Look at Vasari vs Advent.  That's the most difficult matchup in the game for the latter simply because of Phase Missiles.  Hopefully the new tech they get will help them though.

like i said my rant is mainly about them not being able to update on a regular basis, they have more than enough people to do this,why they don't is beyond me, and it makes me mad.

i guess what make it more harder for me than most people is because i have no patience, when i see something that looks appealing to me i have to have it then, no butts about it. i have always been like that lol.

the scary thing is i hope they don't make them op, i've been reading some stuff about there manta ray titan can actually teleport around a gravity well, kinda like a mini phase jump, and when it gets to a full level it can do that infinite times.

Nope.  At max level, there's still a cost of 50 AM and a cooldown of 45 seconds.

Yep, the VLT cannot teleport at will. And the the teleport/The Maw reißbeißverspeiß (nomnomnom) combo is difficult to pull of due to the extremely slow turning speed of titans.

All in all the VLT is cooler but the VRT is imo better.

Why can't they update you more regularly? Because they're busy fixing bugs so they actually have something to update us on.

Let me make something clear, Pre-ordering entitles you to beta access and the full release. Nothing else.

Pre-ordering doesn't suddenly make the dev's your slaves who must update you whenever you wish, it doesn't suddenly give you some god-giving right to call the shots or access all the information.

YOU pre-ordered KNOWING it was just the beta, KNOWING the game wasn't complete. So if you don't like that the vasari haven't been activated yet, all you can do is pretend you never pre-ordered it and WAIT.

Probably because the Advent are much more of an attractive race to the players and community than some aliens? Think of it and compare: the Advent are some psychedelic chicks (all ships have female voices :/) and also... everyone almost is excited by psychic powers and manipulation, so here the Advent kick in, they're like the GLA for Zero Hour... Secondly, synergy is what everyone is after, knowing that you can make viable combos is something one will definitely want.

Thirdly... the Vasari look like some random aliens, running away from something they dun even know Judging by this century, well, chicks are the future key to maintain any game (but I dun think this is the actual reason :D)

Technically speaking... probably Vasari have more issues with "hard-coding" or whatever they need to implement, so think of this as at the restaurant. You ordered a large cake, large enough to hold you a long SoaSE match The TEC are meh... human, who be interested in them that much, when we be surrounded by 'em, lots'a dem all around daily, so they'll be the base of the cake, the Advent are what make it delicious and attractive, and... think of the Vasari as that juicy, sweetish top that awaits ya and will make ya drool

Dun worry, they might be op at start, or quite dumb with lots of buggies, but that's why subsequent patches are for

Tip: If you are impatient to test the Vasari, just unlock them via the Dev.exe (or I think this is done so), I dunno much on modding, and I prefer to wait, but if you do know, you can change the Vasari anyway you want, will just keep you busy till da boyz come home ta throw a big party

There, you did it again. You're acting as if you're entitled to inside information and questioning the will of the dev's. It's their game, not yours. You bought a licence to play it, and because you bought it early, you get to TEST it whilst in development.

It doesn't matter WHY the dev's are choosing to handle the beta like this. You have no authority to demand they give you information, and you are in no position to tell them how to handle their beta.

You can tantrum all you want but at the end of the day it's useless. Don't like that you have to wait about a week to get the vasari? Then that's entirely on you. That is your problem. Your tantrum is not the dev's problem, and it doesn't mean the dev's should pander to your desires.

I've felt there's been a serious lack of communication throughout this entire Beta process. Maybe they're busy on Sins of a Dark Age?

I'm not trying to stir anything up, but they were present on the forum in previous releases (Vanilla/Entrenchment/Diplomacy) but I rarely see a post these days.

I would say the most coolest ability of VLT will be its fleet beacon, unless they dont nerf it to death. Maw would be way cooler if it targeted planets as well, i had already thread deleted on that topic

I personally can type 67 words per minute, and I'm not a coder.  I understand that I didn't pay beta for the privilege of being their boss (though since they dropped the price $10 I appear to have paid to beta), I'm sure that one person could take a minute less time from shaking it dry in the bathroom to post a 60 word update once a day to give us a status update, something to look forward to in the next patch, or just a hello!

Sometimes, there really isn't anything to report for a day.
