Amnesia: Are there mods that allow you to combat enemies?

I played the demo, and I plan to get the game sometime.

So I was wondering if there was some sort of mod out there that allows you to kill/incapacitate/wound/etc enemies. I mean, if I have to play the game without such a mod I'd be perfectly happy, but I feel like no horror game should just have zero combat. I mean, if it were just a sucky flintlock pistol with very little ammo, or some kind of melee weapon that was pretty hard to use effectively then that would be enough for me.

Sure, ive heard that the players inability to combat enemies makes the game "better" or something, but I disagree. When you give something else for the player to work with, your giving him something else to worry about as well. Lets say the player got a revolver or flintlock (im actually quite confused at the time period the game takes place) and it could only slow down enemies. Instead of where, previously, the player would have simply given up and died, with the enemy to despawn from the area upon the player's respawn, the player is now having to work around this slow moving albeit just as deadly terror.

Yes, I know you can throw things at the monsters.
