Unit costs and balance

Unit costs and balance

why does no one ever talk about this?

I find it really intresting that no one really talks about the costs of the individual units.

Like. how cheap the tec support ships are in metal and crystal compared to the other races.

or how the destra is 20 crystal and 25 credits more expensive than a kodiak.

or how the defence vessel is 5 crystal and 15 credits cheaper than a flack frig.

usually, its, this ability is overpowered, or, this ability needs help. or phase missles. we do a lot of talking about phase missles. or armor types, but, the actual costs, fleet supply and dps of units, tends to be ignored.

thoughts?

And Qu4r said "LET THERE BE TROLLING"...so He made a 2nd account and called it RiddleKing...and for a while, the RiddleKing trolled the forums with ease, fooling the noobs and scrubs into thinking he was a different person...but then the RiddleKing regressed into the habits of Qu4r, and the noobs and scrubs were fooled no more...

But the forums saw this as a good thing, because the entertainment provided by the Qu4r's increased tenfold, and all saw that it was for the better...

U see , Seleuceia , u r wrong as usualy.  He is just my apprentice

You take me too seriously, Qu4r...and seeing as RiddleKing has been around here longer than you, wouldn't it be the other way around?

“Always two there are...a master and an apprentice.”

Actually its "Always two there are. No more, no less. A Master and an apprentice."

Unfortunately, I may have dug myself into a hole by limiting it to only two...

Indeed, we've got more of a Brotherhood of Darkness here than an Order of the Sith Lords anyway.

Seleucia your the kind of person i would use as blue print to build an idiot.

Why bother with HC. You can decimate Riddleking's beloved fleet of Halcyon's, Ilums & Defense vessel with a comparable cost and fleet supply of scout frigates & LF spam. Scout Frigs eat LRF for Breakfast, LF eat Defense vessel for breakfast and while neither really pwns a Halcyon, the sheer numbers we are dealing with will do death by a thousand paper cuts to the Halcyon. All without any resources spent on research. Game. Set. Lawyer-ed. x_x

Well, clearly that makes me the Master, as I'm already a Lord of the Sith. So, Qu4r.... I command you to kill RiddleKing and your place in the order will be assured. Kinda more partial to Aliens than Lord of the Rings anyhow...

Tier 0 spam works up to the point it doesn't work--why is that gamer-lamb asks himself but there's no answer to his plan  but inside he knows he's missing something and would rather stick with his lrf plan with a twist  but  hes already spoken.

How does one bounce back after sticking it in the wrong hole and stirring shit up? Did he just say it because he felt like saying something smart-ish? Maybe to prove himself his got a say in the matter no matter what he says?

Life's a complicated so long as we complicate matters (hihi). Why isn't everyone building light frigates and scouts people? Sounds so good on paper don't it but i suspect that's gamer lamb's strategy.

"i say-there's nothing wrong in having nothing to say-unless you insist on saying it."

Haha- Over-Analyze/Troll much? I was merely pointing out that there really isn't a need to use HC to counter the fleet you had outlined in the previous posts of Halcyon+Defense+Ilum. You can cost effectively counter them with Scouts+LF+Carrier Cap rather than spending the resources to develop HC.

Hmm- not sure what Lan games you are playing but LF+Scout Spam is a fairly common early-mid game strategy and a common counter to Flak fleets in general.
