Where does this go?
Now I'm in the right place.
Where do I put the stardockweather.ocx file? I saw it in another thread but I can't find it. When I click on the weather gadget it says the file is not registering or something like that.

Uvah, PM Wizard1956 with that question, I can't remember the thread but he was active on it.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\ObjectDock
that's if you have 7 64 bit
C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock
32bit

That's correct.
Just to let NeXuS users know, the weather module will likely stop working at the end of the month. As it stands, you'll have to subscribe to the service (like what happened with OD a few years back)... and even then, you might not get the 7 day forecast thing.
Not sure if OD users will be similarly affected.
From Winstep Forums, Jorge has written about the arm an leg they'll be charging him to continue their coding.
How much will we get charged if we subscribe to the service? Not wanting to offend anyone but extra doesn't exist.
Oh ...... and thank you for the help.

Unfortunately I'm still getting this. What does mycolors have to do with it? I don't have mycolors.

I think you mean how much will be passed on to us... I don't have any way of estimating. Jorge will have to pay $977.98 for 2,000,000 downloads which is outragepous when you consider all the installing, deleting, trialware, etc.
You can read his thread here: http://forums.winstep.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4432
Oh, didn't know you were talking about MyColors gadgets Uvah.
duh!!!!
I didn't know it was a mycolors gadget. It was in the Halloween thingy so I dl'd it. It didn't say ... This is a mycolors gadget ... at any rate it doesn't work. I had to copy the text from the url for the 64 bit to notepad and rename it like the instructions said to do. Only it goes to C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\CommonFiles\Stardock not C:\ProgramFiles\CommonFiles\Stardock because there isn't any Stardock there. Where I did find it there was only a ODZip.dll file nothing else. Not Weather.ocx and no StardockWeather.ocx. I'm gonna find a different one rather than drive myself more nuts than I already am.
Uvah... most of this thread is totally confused and I think you would be better served were you to post in the correct Forum.
Also, defining your problem - app, circumstance and so on would help folks to help you, bud. Which is all any of us wanted to do. Also, stardockweather.ocx is probably the same for both programs... ![]()
Location: You have a link to download it in reply #6. I believe the link is in Reply #1 in that thread.

Doc, that link leads to the Beta section of the Winstep forums, which is closed to non-registered Winstep users (not Uvah's case, but others won't be able to read it).
Anyway, nobody will have to pay anything, Uvah. Weather.com must be off their rockers if they think a simple weather feed is worth more than gold, not to mention that their stated maximum of 2 million requests per month (*requests*, Doc, not downloads, lol) is simply not enough for any popular desktop gadget.
For comparison, Wunderground.com charges $500 per month for up to 1 million requests PER DAY - and that price is still too steep, IMO.
Anyway, mostly only weather forecasts will be affected on October 31st when they cut the feed, since Winstep applications by default retrieve *current* weather conditions from NOOA.
Now looking into other options, but things look a bit grim considering Weather.com only gave 15 days notice to everybody using their feed.
