Anyone around here still remember me?

Any of my old Skinz.org buddys still hanging around here? 

I've been gone for about a decade now. I used to make some litestep themes back in the day, mostly collaborations with other skinners like Dangeruss, Treetog, and Crumbut. I also used to moderate wallpaper submissions on Skinz.org back when it was still brown. 

I recently found my old copy of Object Desktop 2000 CD (yeah I actually bought it on CD). Of course, my old Stardock Component Manager serial number didn't work. (Anyone remember Component Manager?) So I'm thinking of getting back into skinning again and was wondering how the community has been doing.

What are the most recent trends in skinning?

Which programs are people using the most now?

Is there any chance of getting a renewal or upgrade price for Object Desktop based off my old registration code from 10 years ago ('cause I'm a broke-ass college student now)?

Will any of my old skins that I have been saving on a CD all these many many years still work with the newest version of Windowblinds; and if not is there an easy way to update them to the newer version?

It may have something to do with the issues I had on this site when I first joined. This is actually like my third account here I think. I kept getting freezed out for some reason and had to make new accounts every 3 months just to log in.  It was actually a big contributer to my just giving up on skinning at the time.

That's another account I made prior to this one just to try to get logged in. I'd prefer to have the stats off that account instead of this one since it's older, but don't like the name on it with the 0009 I had to add to make it work.   My original account is long been removed I think. I was actually one of the very first people to sign up when this site went live.

For those who do remember me, I had the weirdest messed-up computer issues.   *_*

Not that he's admitted to any of late, but Jafo also has the weirdest messed up computer issues... and yrag usually tears him a new one for sluffing up... to put it politely.

Anyhow, welcome back and I hope you stay a while.  There's a few new kids on the block, and most of 'em are okay... just watch out for that Uvah bloke, he really is weirderer and messed up.  He'll make up all sorts of excuses like "I was dropped on my head as a baby', but truth be known, it's cos he's self medicating and drinks waaaay too much coffee.

Crumbut.... last I caught up with him Chad was into 'skinning' of game sims ... so still 'around'..... [BTW ...he's to 'blame' for the greatest all-time skin 'suite' - Heavy Equipment ]

I think Chad has given up on digital skinning all together. From what I've seen by his Facbook activitys he's into 'skinning' real cars now.

Awesome to see you are both still around. And thank you both for the kind words! :blush:  Who else is still lurking around here from the old crowd? 

Jafo: are you still steppin'? and if so, how is LS doing now? any new developments or amazing new modules added in the last 10 years? 8O  Did they ever come up with a formal theme standard? I see you have a nifty Stardock logo under your name, are you working for Brad now?  :D   

 

Snowman: Still have that massive skins collection by any chance? I lost all my skins (even my own LS themes) in a horrible HD crash back in 2005 or so.  x_x I had them all on a CD somewhere at one time, but I moved so many times that I guess it got lost in the shuffle. 

 

As for me, I am now residing in Illinois and currently working on a nursing degree. I got my first degree in applied computer science (imagine that) back in 2003. I now spend my time studying, gaming, and trying to keep up with my much younger boyfriend. Life is pretty good.  :w00t:

I do believe we have some 'brown site' in common. May sound wierd, but I still miss that site..... Many have tried but there's never been one like it since.

Deven....not so's you'd notice. I did give it a go on Win 7 [once], but post XP going to 7 and there's 'almost' no need.  I've been online-busy here, along with Island Dog...and with the cross-linking of the Forums there's effectively 4.6 million members....so it's all go-go-go in 'the big city'....;)

As for 'working for Brad' that's effectively seen it's 10th anniversary - been that long here as a Wizop/Admin.  Made it to Michigan in 2009 .... shall be there again next year [oops...now they know...gives them time to hide]...;)

OK, I found out how to change the user name on my old account, yay!  :dur:

Now how do I change the e-mail address? The one on here is the old Dangeruss-Industries e-mail account I had, and it's no longer available. Or is there no way to change the e-mail address that the account is set up with originally?  I hope that's not the case, because even the e-mail on the other account I created this thread with is an old one that I don't use any longer either . . .
