Kol Flipped?

I have noticed that all over the place the Kol is being shown with an armored right side, instead of hangers. Does this herald changes to the Kol, or is it merely an older picture flipped on accident?

Its a rendering. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Yeah, that's what I figured, too. I only grew suspicious because of the new background image for the website.

It's space! Up and down are less relevant, they are just rolled over ;)

Its flipped relative to the the top and bottom/front to back of the ship.

I think half of the people here have to google/wiki that comment to get that joke.

Alas, you are not the only aging fart on the forums Ryat :( You're probably right though, heh.

Shame on them, then.

30 and I get it! It's kinda weird how it works. When I know people who are 25 and the oldest sibling, they don't know this stuff. My brother is about 25, but I guess being the youngest works out in that he knows all these old references.

21. This is an old reference?

I'm 27 and I get that from my daughters.

It happened 22 years ago. :P

I don't know very many old references. I know just as few references used by today's (Insane) youth.

Well that will be a cheap way to bring in an new ship....

No, Ryat's flagships are a cheap way, but look cooler than simply flipping parts.

Still love all the Kol variants that came out.

Why not? it would make retreats more interesting, all the firepower point towards the attacking force, giveing the rest of the fleet an easier time running

I always wondered why they didn't use full turreting weapons like from Homeworld or any real navy. Apparently we experienced a couple thousand years of space travel but still use bullets, lost turreting tech, and managed to meet a race that is thousands of years older but too incompetent to just steamroll us. Man, we could really use the Shivans right about now.

Hey, maybe that's the race chasing the Vasari?

You know, I haven't thought about it till lachlanp pointed it out, if you count the new web background design and this post from facebook, you may have a point.

I doubt it.  The Shivans wouldn't have left any of the Vasari fleet alive to flee.
