Shamblers III + Idols does more damage then Shamblers I + Morale II + Idols

39.8 DPS (morale II, 2 Shamblers I + All level IV idols) vs

80 DPS (4 Shamblers III at 40 damage @ 05 rof)

Doubling the number of Shamblers is a damn fine DPS boost for 3 skill points considering you are using ground spike.
