[eMOD] Bugfix Mod 2.2b for Elemental 1.07 (now with Icecrown's spells)

Again, I'm deleting this post because old bugfix mods seem to attract pirates.

Update your game, and the new bugfix mod for 1.08 can be found here: https://forums.elementalgame.com/396824

For those coming from the 1.7 version of the bugfix mod (for 1.06 elemental)

Stab of Ice - no longer makes the target lose their turn. Mana cost reduced to 3
Freeze Enemy - now single target, always makes target lose turn. Extra note: The attribute is described as a % for enemy to lose turn, but it is 100% no matter the value

All these fixes were fixes from 1.06 that weren't patched at 1.07.

And also special thanks to Icecrown for letting me reference his new spell graphics.

Edit: I see a mistake in the summary, ill fix it for the next release. It says the empire peasant is now allowed to "upgrade", but I meant "level". Edit2: Also, freeze enemy is duplicated in the summary. The latter is the correct one.

Thanks, as always, Heavenfall (and Gnillbert and Icecrown).  If I have time, I'll try to find that bug with the cloaks not connecting to female units.  :)

I don't think that's fixable. The unit model files have set points where certain attachments go. We can't enter relative values, and we can't change the points in the models.

awesome,

so glad you were able to include Icecrown's work as I was intentionally always holding off on some bug fixes because I just loved those effects way to much, lol.

Since this mod very modular, exempt spells, I have one idea:

What about putting all damage spells in one seperate xml? They way, if someone whats just shard fixes, he could chose to opt for those only.

The shard fixes apply to more than just damage spells.

Thanks Heavenfall. Always appreciated. :)

You're welcome!

@p22 Come to think of it, every single non-damage spell except Rallying Cry and Fear that I touched were irreparably broken. I don't know why someone would choose not to use those fixes.

If anyone's curious, many of the mods from 1.7 straight up made it into the game - including adding costs to quarries, to fixed resource building costs. Arguably those were a little less "fix" and a lot more "balance" when I did them, but since they were later "fixed" into 1.07 I can sleep at night. Hell, they even made Sprint have a 2 turn duration.

Heh.. I understand. But maybe... I guess... balance tweaked spells could do in separate xml file. Just to make things more modular.

If I change back stab of ice in the next release to always make the enemy lose their turn, there won't be a single spell balance change that is not also a bugfix for a completely broken spell.

rar rar! :D

I also don't think that the Empire Peasant HP bonus is a bug, just so you know :/ I think that it is a design decision (Empire units starts stronger but don't level as much. Think of it as an unruly pack of soldiers. They are tough because they all came from the streets, but they tend to get in fights that kill each other so they have to constantly be replaced with NEW thugs).

It's not just 3 more health, its a completely different species! If the unit could not be upgraded, I would be inclined to agree with you. Anyway, that part at least is modular - I don't force you to play with them.

I just realized they didn't fix the death worship race bonus either. Crap. I'll include in next release.

Do i add the Mods folder to the Elemental folder or is it somewhere else?

Yep, create the Mods folder in your Elemental install directory.

To the elemental folder. I'm surprised people don't have it already, it was there for me from the start. oh well.

Here's a juicy one I can't figure out.

Paridan faction has a GLOBAL food buff of +50%. Where is it coming from?

At the moment I'm guessing this line in CoreRaceConfigs:

<A_Rations>50</A_Rations>

Only Pariden has that entry.

I think some of the other factions have these kind of things too. Probably leftovers from when the Factions were customizable, but had some set Bonuses you couldn't change. Tarth, I think has some bonus 'Seamanship' ability. Not that it actually does anything, of course.

New release. Added the turn removal to stab of ice again, and upped it to 4mana.

HF107_unittype_GenericWraithSoldiers.xml - Resoln faction bonus Death Worship not properly applied. I've added 2 health to wraith units. This WILL affect custom races using wraith race. This will NOT affect pre-designed units Peasant and Pioneer.

HF107_item_bandoffortitude.xml - Item says it gives 2 health points, but only gives 1. Fixed to give 2.

HF107_worldresource_Pumkinpatch.xml - World resource Pumpkin patch produces 2.4 food per turn, but farms on top claims it produces 4 in tooltip. Fixed tooltips.

HF107_worldresource_EnrichedLand.xml - World resource Enriched Land produces 20 food per turn, but farms on top claims it produces 4 in tooltip. Fixed tooltips.

HF107_race_Pariden.xml - Pariden faction had a global bonus of 50% to their food. Removed.

Known issues (from mod):
Balance issue: what is the point of Freeze enemy, if Stab of ice does it for less mana and also damages enemy?
Warrior Temple will display that it provides "50% faster training (bugfix: 25%)"

To fix:
Umber "Uneducated" does not work
Yithril "Superstitious" does not work

Thanks again - installing the new version and deleting the old.  Thx!

It's a pretty massive bonus, that's for sure.

On the other hand Paiden, is pretty crappy faction. I haven't seen influential doing anything, and there is no any cost to settling, so Civilizerd doesn't do a thing either.

Influential works, as far as I know. And civilized was changed to reduce cost of upkeep for kingdom buildings. It might be a little low, however.

Well, I haven't seed any benefit of Influential. What exactly it is? Didn't see bigger radius, din't see it getting quicker.
