I could of played SC2 without Strat Zoom if it wasnt so similar to the first. I understand it's Starcraft 2, but it's just way to nostalgic for me.

Plus, I can't stand the fact that everything has to be at spitting distance to shoot each other.

Oh, and on top of everything, it's the worst community I've ever had the misfortune of being a part of. More ass-hats then WoW, and that's an accomplishment. 

It doesn't have Strat zoom, though you can zoom out a "little" and then you can zoom in like most games. But the game wouldn't work out well with strat zoom, the amount of units on the field is much much lower than conventional RTS games. 

It's got a cleaner interface than SC2, in my opinion. 

Things can shoot pretty far, much further than SC. Some things across the screen (which you will hate), artillery and snipers in particular. There's also cover, which is pretty damn important. 

Not a hyper active community and mostly made of whiners. But helpful if you know who is good and bad.

I heard a LOT of good things about DoW, but heard DoW2 fell short.

I beat a guy yesterday and he sent all his probes to attack my base
I thought it was rather entertaining. 

its all a matter of what you like.  I really enjoyed the original DoW and only kinda like DoW2.  While folks like hedgie LOVE DoW2. 

I wish you guys played SupCom. I'd be on that like white on rice.

I love DoW II!  But its kinda tough playing right before I go to sleep cause it can be a kind of intense game...

Last night I had bad dreams I couldn't keep up with my opponents capping, and then it started getting weird... think I remember him sneaking a bunch of units past my front lines on some sort of giant floating baloon that looked like Huckleberry Hound or Wonderdog or something.

This...I have had this too... I hate this!

I had some sort of weird bug the last 2 games we played were I couldn't give my units attack/cap orders :/ that was why. Turns out it was something to related with my Caps Lock key (my Caps Lock key is modified to Backspace through a registry hack but DoW overrides the standard in and stuff... end result is if you put Caps Lock on, it basically keeps looping "cancel cancel cancel", which is weird :/ )
