Game was running fine. Went to play next day, and when i get to the game screen the alian races will not load up. Im all alone in the universe. Also, my debug. err file will not open. HELP!!!!

Navigate to Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor and remove the prefs.ini file from the directory.  Then launch the game again.  Does the issue persist?  Also, are you running the game with any mods

Thanks rosco. also, i had almost complete contol of the galaxy, with some wicked ships i built, when they all turned into colony ships. lol.i know it sounds crazy, but it happened! i got wiped out very quickly. i took your advice, and now it works perfectly. i dont know why, but thanx alot.

Sometimes the prefs.ini file doesn't save correctly for one reason or another, and it gets corrupted.  Not often, but at least it's an easy fix.  Glad to hear you're up and running again, though.  For general knowledge sake, if you're playing Dread Lords or Dark Avatar, you can check the other GalCiv2 related folders in 'My Games' for their debug.err and prefs.ini files.
