This thread has been created for the purpose of tracking results in the April/May 2010 2v2 Demigod Community Tournament. 

Current status:  WINNER! - King_Of_Thorns + Zen_God

Round 1a began at 5PM on 4/21/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 4/30/2010. 

Round 1b began at Midnight on 5/1/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 5/7/2010.

Round 2 began at Midnight on 5/8/2010 and ended at 11:59PM EST on 5/23/2010.

Round 3 (SEMIFINALS) began at Midnight on 5/24/2010 and will end at 11:59PM EST on 5/30/2010.

Round 4 (FINALS) began Midnight on 5/31/2010 and will end at 11:59PM EST on 6/5/2010

Players responsible for hosting and scheduling their own matches.  Then, the winning team must provide a replay and a link to the pantheon stats here for tracking purposes, for every game played.  Please feel free to use this thread get your matches scheduled.

There will be a need to disqualify teams that aren't making the required effort to get their games in without penalizing another team that's doing whatever they can to get a match scheduled.  It's probably best if teams that are trying to organize matches go on record in the forums.  For instance, if I was playing against say AtMa and Ba, I'd post something like the following in this thread:

Atma + Ba:  trouser and pacov are generally available M-F from 5pm EST - 1AM EST.  Please let us know if some time in that slot would work for you or recommend a time slot that works.  I'll PM you in a few days if I haven't heard from you or we can discuss this on lagwars vent. 

Something like that.  If it comes down to disqualifying teams because they didn't get their match in, the more info and tracking you have indicating that you did your best to get the match scheduled the better.

Here is the FINAL bracket  - UPDATED 6/5/2010

Tournament Rules:

  • You may only select characters as indicated in the grid below:

  • Each match in the tournament will be the best 2 out of 3 games
  • All matches will be played on cataract with default settings (the only exceptions being AI HP on Very High and AI Gold/XP on low)
  • After teams are formed, they will be randomly placed into a bracket to determine who will fight who.  Everything will be random initially in round 1.  In the following rounds, the winners from one game will play the winners from another based on location in the bracket starting from the top on to the bottom.
  • Each team will play 1 round on light side, then 1 round on dark side.  If there is a 3rd round, the team that had the fastest win in game 1 or 2 gets to pick the side they want to be on (keep in mind the following rule).  
  • The team that is on the dark side must pick their characters and ready up first.  Then the light gets to pick and the dark side does not have a chance to adjust their characters. 
  • To track your wins, you must do the following - post the replay at gamereplays.org.  If you have issues with gamereplays, upload the file to rapid share and provide us with a link.  Also, provide a link to the match in the pantheon and let me know if its a win or loss.  The winning team should do this for each and every match.
  • UberFix 1.02 must be used (http://forums.demigodthegame.com/374315).  UberFix is a mod that fixes many of the bugs in Demigod.  Check the modding forum for everything that is fixed by UberFix 1.02. 

How will we handle crashes:

If there is a game crash, the players involved in that match should see if they can come to a consensus on the probable outcome of the match.  If there is no clear winner, the 2 teams should replay the match using the exact same demigods and sides (light/dark).  If there was a clear winner at that point in the game, then that team should be awarded the win.  If the 2 teams disagree on the outcome, a third party will review the replay of the match and render a decision.  Be aware that the 3rd party must agree that a specific team was going to win or the results will be thrown out and the match redone.

How we will handle invalid game states:

The lastgamereplay file is still created in the event of an invalid game state, so it is still possible to review the results of a match.  In the event of an invalid game state, players should attempt to resolve the issue exactly the same way as game crashes.  If you believe foul play occurred, submit the replay along with any screen shots, etc, as evidence and we will review.  If there is a CLEAR consensus that a team is willingly triggering invalid game states, that team should be disqualified after a thorough review of the facts. Please be reasonable, though.  We all know that Demigod has its bugs and its still pretty easy to encounter an invalid game state even if no one has intentionally triggered it.  If your game does crash, it might be advisable to take a screen shot of the crash as proof.  Be aware that we know invalid game states can occur without any sort of foul play, so please be mindful when submitting requests for review. 

Prizes:

Outside of prestige in our small community, there is also a cash prize thanks to community contributions.  The total (and probably final) amount paid for this tournament is $200.  If you would like to contribute to the pot, please pm me and I'll get you the needed info to send me a payment.  If individuals do not come through on their pledges, I will not be personally covering the difference.  My goal is to collect the pledged amount before the tournament starts and I will be providing updates as I receive the pledged money.

Yeah, first game Ba somehow diconnected which never happend b4. It was about 10  min in. We both had 5 kills. They had 3 early kills while all of our kills were late kills. If that game was to be counted IMO we would of won. And I just wanna say the 2nd game we played was one of the best game I ever played, IT'S A MUST WATCH FOR EVERYONE! Great gameplay by both sides and Cow I have to say, I was suprised by your QOT. I still have no idea how you survived that  run when both me and ub were attacking and you kept on healing up which at end got us both killed! lol, Nice QOT. It was very fun game.

 

Edit: Even if Cow won the first game that didn't counted, we would still win because then we would of won 2 games out of 3. Just like to mention it.

brandon is a jackass ^^; I don't know if he even speaks English properly. 

Anyway, ABorn + Shreddy and I briefly touched bases yesterday regarding scheduling. We temporarily set up Saturday as our game day but that may not work: Thundercles leaves "The Land of Nice Internet" very very early Friday morning. I may also end up having company over on Saturday against my will ._. 

So, Exile, Shreddy it would be much much better if we could time it sometime tomorrow night or the night after (after all, Round 1b does end Friday :P). I should be okay around 9 EST. Thunder may not be ready until another hour or two after that, I know he is two behind me so he might still be at work.

don't tear brandon a new one.  It sucks that he hasn't come through yet, but, if you look at the big picture - his early offer to pledge $100 is what got me selling the tourney and drummed up some more interest.  So, really, he may have flaked out (could still pay), but the tourney is as it is largely because of him...

hey maxsteele - odds are I can't make it on Wed now.  Its cinco-de mayo and I apparently have plans, I'm told.  I'm all set for thursday though... anyway, there's still a chance I could make wed after 10pm est, but don't wait around or put yourselves out.  Does thursday work okay?  I can be free from about 6:30pm-11:30PM.

I chose the same favor item, same starter gear, same abilities as the first game.  We had no reason to change the play since it was working out for us.  I saw you changing your favor from staff to BotF though...  thanks for being cool about it.  That 2nd game was yours to win but just didn't work out i guess.

just checked the replay...yeah you did have the staff for both games.

It seemed you had more hp for the 2nd so i just assumed you had botf :)

If you check the replay of the game that I had gotten dropped, you'd be sure it was going to be our game to win (late kills, more gold, cita upgrades).  We stuck with the same plan on our rematch and won it.  UB/Reg is tough against UB/TB.  It would have been nice if both of our games were qot/ub vs ub/tb

I honestly disagree with your idea of you winning game one. I convinced jaws to go UB Reg because I new it would suprised the tits off you two and it worked. We were just fine I don't care if you got a few kills. The game two was just the result of you knowing what was coming. The last game was pretty heart breaking for me because I totally out played everyone in that game. Two poor deaths by Jaws, a missed opprotunity to aquire our portal back after atma died and Ba was going to base to heal and we both ported to your other portal, and finally Jaws failing to use a sigil, dying, and loosing your portal, while I tried and failed to cap your other portal really cealed the deal.

I also should have either bought Jaws something or myself something when I floated 9k gold and threw it at the citadel instead.

Don't let these games go to your heads though. You guys played well and congratz but you wont get lucky like this next round and that dysnc was BS and I am sure if I bitched enough I could get it replayed but I don't care that much. Even if we won the 3rd game that would of meant missing Kareoke for me tonight and I won a 20 dollar gift card for the biggest risk, I sang Sweet Child 'O' Mine by Guns 'N' Roses. So thanks for beating us LOL.

That's talking about me STARTING playing demigod at about 2 -3 AM on a work night.  That's not happening dude. :\   I have to be up at half 7 most days.

Friday or Saturday would be best as then I could stay up later.  Also, then you could perhaps play earlier as well so i'm not hanging around waiting for a game of demigod at 4 am ^_^'

Also, I could do mid afternoons your time throughout the week i.e. evenings my time.

About Brandon_Varn - he wasn't happy with his partner so he pulled out of the tournament.  He wanted me initially, then I think he wanted grahf666, then when he couldn't get a partner good enough for him in time he decided to pull out.

Very nice game....the 1st one was pretty easy got atma/ba but the second one was a really good game. Nice come back.

I messaged Naur, I think I can do Thursday night:troll: (looks kinda like an alligator) , I am scheduled to tutor in accounting:ninja: (ninjas are ridiculous) , but the student did not show up last time,so I dunno what will happen. If i tutor, then I wont be home until around 8:30pm unless the student needs a lot of extra help. My only other window is on Friday from 3pm to last game ending at 7:45pm and me leaving at 7:50pm. So I guess we just have to see when Naur is available.:yes:

For our match hedgie, i can do any day any time, as long as i know about it 24 hours in advance. you have to work out the rest with shreddies, as he is in the UK
