Suites

Theme Manager

Hello,

I am having issues with the theme manager suite.  There are some suites that will apply and others won't - namely Philly381

suites will not apply.  I sent stardock support an email and two weeks later I still do not have any solutions.  Tech sent me a

link to use and send back to him information on my computer.  I have yet to receive a response as to what the findings

are.  Well this is why I am here to see if someone can assist me please.  He mentions to download non beta theme manager

but does not send me a link or direction as to where to obtain the link.  Does anyone know where to find the non beta theme manager ?

When I purchased object desk top package, it came with the software I purchased and I have downloaded via impulse the ones

I am mostly interested in.

I am thinking of totally uninstalling all of Stardock/Wincustomize software and reinstalling all over again to see if that works as there were some free software I had on my pc prior to purchasing the OD package.

I don't know what exactly to do and I do enjoy spiffing up my computer.

Thank you,

Elizabeth

What parts of them themes are not installing if any? A lot of the stuff on philly's suites are just links if you weren't aware. And theme manager will only load certain parts of a suite theme. Plus you need to have the other elements installed for them to work...such as IconPackager...WindowBlinds...etc.

And your actually better off going and downloading each element by itself and installing them that way. Theme manager always seems to have problems.

what WebGizmos just explained to you is pretty much what we discussed in our emails/PM's.  I would like to see Theme Manager get some much needed updates but it doesn't look like that will be happening anything soon.

This may take a little while but why not go through the process you used to download and they apply one of the Suites and we might be able to see where the problems is.

Start with what OS you are using, I thought you said you were using Vista is that correct?  Is it 32 bit or 64 bit?

Webgizmos,

Thank you for replying to me and yes I am aware that the programs (wb, ip, etc) need to be

installed in order to be able to use the theme manager and Philly's suites were not links but

actual suites however, I have done exactly what you mentioned which is to download a suite

manually because it became too frustrating dealing with theme manager.

I have since uninstalled theme suite program and a few other programs that came with Object Desktop

package for I basically use, wb, ip, wallpaper, object dock and a few widgets.  Since I became a customer

WB has been updated to a very nice program where you can change the color, textures, font etc.

Thank you very much for taking time to help me  :-)

Have a wonderful week !

Hi Philly,

Yes it is what we discussed and I posted the question hoping maybe someone had a solution

that others were not aware of.  I truly feel that when a change happens whether good or not so good

it should be posted so that others are able to read it and say wow I am experiencing the same thing and hopefully a

solution be available.  Seems like the support people are overwhelmed with emails and hard to keep up via emails.

I now see that the program does have issues and I have uninstalled it and download the suites I really like alot manually.

The changes being made on the BETA site will help tremendously for newbies like me :)

Philly I can't thank you enough for the time you have taken to assist me.  I hope one day I may

be able to help someone via my trials and tribulations :-)

My OS is Vista Home Premium (Service Pack 2) 32- bit

Have a great week !

I'm sorry for bumping an old thread, but I am having the same problem.  Perhaps I am misunderstanding what I need to do.   I notice that the size of several of the themes is significantly smaller than the size of the stardock provided ones for instance.  I assume this means that several of the pieces are not included in the theme.   (Isn't that point of a theme though?)   Anyway, assuming I download all the pieces of a theme (from the links provided in the theme post), then do I need to install each item individually, and then apply the theme for this to work?

BTW - I am on win 7 64 bit (home)  & win 7 32 bit (work)

thanks!  I am really looking forward to being a part of the community.

Theme Manager Suties does have some bugs and in need an update.  The suites that I have been uploading only are able to downlaod and apply only a few of the skins of a Suite.  That is the main reason I list all the skins with links in the description.  Unfortunately downloading of a Suite and getting it to apply the included skins does not currently work for all OSs.  I am on Win 7 64 bit.

If you choose to download each skin manually then you will also have to apply them manually.  Once you do that you could then use Theme Manager to make you own Suite that you use to change themes.  I believe that part of Theme Manager does work.
