A preview of things that have changed for a reason or another and that it is still actively being worked on:

Yes things have strayed from the original concept due to parts looking good in one place and being inherited in another and looking like dung and also some spots looking to blah.

sharp...very clean...I see some good old school influences in there...I like it. B)

Looks pretty good on my screen!!

Wow!! That's going to be an epic first blind Heigar!

Thanks.

Would it be possible:

To make it so the expanded part expands automatically to fit the text instead of having to put in the Recent Documents Expansion value in SKS.

If the text of the file name is to long and the value isn't set right in SKS it looks like shite.

In my screenshot I have already adjusted the value to accommodate the length of the first 2 files...

No. Sorry :)

This looks like it's gonna be a fine blind and I'm looking forward to downloading it. I am available for testing/advice if you like. I have put together a blind or 2, ya know ;)

It looks good on my PC. I didn't like the changes at first, but they're growing on me. There will probably be 3 DXes though. I still like the 2 I have already done.

The original concept was very promising... but being quite honest, the changes have completely ruined it.  It's cluttered and scattered all at once.  Quite disappointing.

also not fond of most of the changes, its gotten very.. umm.. chunky i guess would be the word. Especially the title-bar area.

That said, im sure it will appeal to others, and good job on ur first WB Heigar :sun:

I like the start menu - very artistic! The windows frame, title care are all amazing still. I just don't like the buttons for the skin.

I would not come close to saying the skin has completely ruined. It still looks one of the best skins campare to those on wincustomize :w00t:

UPDATE: I didn't read vStyler comment before posting this. We post at the same time. i still like what I've seen :w00t: I hope to artist comes up with better botton's style.

I read the post without realizing how old it was. Still looks good though. Waiting to see how it comes together.

Hi Heigar...

I will definitely be downloading this blind as soon as you get it finished. I can't wait until it is done... but like Boxxi had said... don't rush your work on it and end up ruining it just so people can download it. You will know when it's done and ready to be downloaded. Before I saw the headline saying that this was your first blind... I actually thought that this was going to end up being a Masterblind. I think it is going to end up being that good. Keep working on it Heigar.

Sorry to interrupt, ups where are my manners- first off nice first blinds i like it it looks sharp and clean to me impressive for a first and as long as your happy with the outcome it doesnt matter what others say...advice is always something you can take with you and use it on the next run ^^
Since i also work on my first blinds i would like to have some advice before i finish spending hours over hours and end up re-doing everything.
First of i would like to know dimensions of an Windows7 WB startmenü what is max and what is average size since i only found the 390x400 size for windows but that seems to be for XP .I want to do a blinds with XP and 7 support im thinking about vista still since i hated vista very much :D short look over the cold shoulder :P
Then i would like to have some words from our advanced WB makers do you actually make the work in photoshop twice the average size and scale it down to increase sharpness and detail ? I mostly only work with ZBrush and thats the way how to improve detail there. Thanks in advance
Im on holidays atm so i have time to finally start a blinds i had this idea for some time but never found the time.
Already have a concept sketched out on a piece of paper lol yeah im lazy, its easier to remind some things this way and quicker...
So im ready to go i think all i need is the final advice and i start.

Im already working on it but iam a lazy person :D
Anyway any tip on the scaling?Should i start with double size dokument and shrink it afterwards?
As a Master you may have some tips on that ?

I'm excited to see the finished product also, I'm not a skinner but I know beautiful things, this has those qualities, congrats on your first and thanks for making a XP version:grin: I'm still using mine for now hopefully something comes through so I can upgrade. :sun:

I would suggest drawing everything the size you desire it to be, I don't see any reason to double size then shrink.

At least not for WB graphics.

You may want to start another thread for this. |-)
