Multiplayers that Exhibit Inappropriate Behavior

Since P5y's post on AFK'rs has been nuked, I thought I would take a different tack and create a thread that documents complaints against individuals that exhibit certain traits.  This is in an effort to make them accountable for their actions of unsavory, rude, or just inappropriate behavior, especially when it results in prolonging an otherwise decided contest.

The following infractions shall be noted (with prejudice):

  1. AFK during game, particularly END GAME.
  2. Refusal to concede when game is over.
  3. Ignoring allies, or uncommunicative during game.
  4. Irascible attitude in general, but especially towards newer players.
  5. Repeated "questionable" mini-dumps.

Arguably this type of behavior deserves punishment, and the ideal preference would be to impose restrictions on their account, but in the absence of someway to strip, or suspend the offending party of play privileges, this at least offers some recourse to those victimized by the offenders.

Please submit the offending players name, smurf name, or substantiated identity, and if possible corroborate their offending actions with supporting posts.

Submit and/or Corroborate, (Supporting Posts will be Noted) - Also, a cited player may now refute their posting with their comments noted.

The Following Players are Hereby Cited for Unsportsmanlike Conduct:

  1. chose - He is a notorious endgame malingerer, often saying his 5 year old has been playing or that his mouse won't work- extremely argumentative and obnoxious.
  2. KKrazy - Known for leaving games AFK.
  3. Cpt Glorius - AFK'r and insolent to teammates and opponents alike.
  4. Ronin 56 - More than one account of accepting substatial feed then quitting in the face of questionable opposition.
  5. Black Sword Command - More than once has entered a game and gone completely afk from the beginning. (refuted by BSC saying, he "...rarely goes afk...")
  6. {SB}=>Ferdie - Established reputation of over the top expansion/entrench/endgame blackmail style of never quitting.
  7. Abaddon Xerxes - 2 player requests to post him for minimizing/quitting.
  8. chowdown - Obstinate "come and get me" end-game posture in a losing performance where he refused to quit. (replay provided).
  9. St. Joseph - Stayed in a game after everyone on his team gg after alomst 2 hours.  Put SB's everywhere, then proceeded spouting bible verses saying he was a righteous Saint in the eyes of God and everyone should bow down before him.  Game ended 3.54.
  10. Champ_1 - Documented with replay - endgame blackmail/lagfest griffer.

Yeah, about that...

If so it's a shame.  What really matters in a multiplayer environment just as much as the strategy, tactics, and game mechanics, is the personal dynamics.  There should be some measure of accountability for cretins that foul the experience.

Only reason for this to get locked would be if people start attacking other players.  So far, almost everything seems pretty reasonable to me.

Except:

Could someone give a few examples as to when people should be surrendering?  Because, at least in the example Swordsalmon gave, i am in disagreement.  70 Illums is a sizable fleet, and it is possible, tho agreeably not likely, to make a comeback.  The only time i'll surrender is if i lose my whole fleet, in my own controlled space and don't think i can make anything in time to matter.  Basically, if my opponent has me locked down, within four jumps of my HW.

U actually might be the worst person to ever live. If you want, ill start a post about how bad of a person you are. That way everybody can contribute to putting you down. I wont feel so bad if thats the case

This is all about attacking players by saying that they are unsportsman like conduct and thus attacking players for there beliefs personally ferdie might stick around from experince I know this but he does give in, and Black Sword Commander i have never ever seen AFK.

Also most people on this list I have never heard a complaint about and have seemed to have just been added out of nowhere.

Generally, the consensus in-game is what one should go by.  Granted, a capable player can put up a prolonged effort of defensive struggles to thwart his inevitable impending defeat, but if they are the last of the Mohicans, unless they just want a last stand type battle at a SB'd choke planet, the remaining opponents will appreciate a rapid resolution to conclude the game.

ravok, "their beliefs" has nothing to do with their in-game behavior.  It's about their demonstrated tendancies.  Therefore, this thread is for you then.  This is where you need to look since you have never heard of these players and their tendancies.  Excellent that you have found it so useful!

Proto. get off your wagon. im BSC and the only times i go AFK are the times where something MORE IMPORTANT THAN THIS GAME has come up. and that is rarely. and even so i said i have to go or brb or something like that. ask anyone. i RARELY go AFK. this thread is a simple attack on players. you are no better than anyone of us.

Thanks for acknowledging that you go afk.  Question is, "Why would you go afk for an entire game instead of just quitting and at least let the ai take over for you?"  And if citing you for something that you openly admit to is an attack, well, that is a dubious matter of interpretation now isn't it?  At least you get a chance to clarify that, "i RARELY go AFK" right?  Point is; if you continue in this behavior, again, at least others will have a place to corroborate it.  No attacking, just reporting.

You don't see a long list of players on here because I don't just willy-nilly slap anyone up on it.  And if someone want's to argue their case, all the better.

I'll also +1 to Ferdie, not for any endgame shenanigans, but rather for overzealous expansion, usually into friendly territory.  Also the times I have played with him his conduct toward his team leaves a lot to be desired.  The times I have played with him he has expanded too fast then demands feed when his fleet comes against an enemy and he has too much territory to defend...that he no longer can.  I've also witnessed him refusing to assist teammates on more than one occasion..usually only telling them to SB their HW.

I will most certanly agree ferdie is a jerk but he is not an endgamer if he knows he is dead he leaves but if he still has you at all choke points blocked he will stay until you break through somewhere

Please, give a brotha a break.  Look, you say you rarely go afk, point taken, but don't make shit up.  I don't even know what "3 end game fleets" means.  But, if you're insinuating that I refuse to quit a game that is hopelessly un-winable, you got me mixed up with somebody else.  Not only do I deplore folks that pull that kind of crap, I just wouldn't inflict that nonsense on anyone because I know firsthand how aggravating that kind of childish bullshit is. 

And seriously, if you cant take this thread serious, that's fine, but why you want to dis me for trying to string some relevance together out of experience.  I don't see any character defamation or personality conflicts going on here.  Just trying to set the record.

I guess its part and parcel of being in DT.  Only a few of them seem immune.  I would say siddy is rubbing off on him but considering how often siddy makes gay comments and names, I would hate to think of what exactly he is rubbing.

When have you protected BIA, quar?  BSC isn't in BIA anymore and hasn't been for months so it can't be him.  Ferdie has never been BIA.  I was just joking around with you anyways sorta.  I will never know why anyone would want to be in a clan with siddy.  His cons more than outweigh the pros he brings to a group.
