I know that you said not to bother pointing out bugs in the o.4os version, but you said that it'll be pretty much the same in the new release - in which case, will you fix the player portrait issues?

Just to tag onto a previous thought you had said Stress about the Runabout for a *dipolmatic vessel* I was thinking for strike craft Runabout = Bomber and The little scout ship Data was in in " Insurection" would be a Fighter or either way around.

I assume strike craft will go in?  I also still think Vor'Cha should be a cap :P ....

Hey if you made the interpid a dipolmatic effect one of the abilities could be the "Janeway Effect" and lets you break the temporaly time directive and force on diplomatic situtation to go your way lol hahahahaha ;)

I believe the models for the Insurrection fighter and the bomber were in the original sins mod, it was just that they didn't bother to put it in becuase of the issues

I do not think it is misnamed. That is just one of the MANY different descriptions for the Ktinga. Most say that it IS a d-7. When TMP came out everyone thought it was an upgraded D-7 I am using the FASA designs so i went with its description. Also because its a TMP era ship. You notice none of the TNG era have drell numbers, and the romulan TNG doesnt have "V" or "Z" numbers. I dont want to get into a heated debate about this now. Yes they are named the same in 0.4e. You can change it if u dont like it. I am leaving everything in text format just for that purpose ;)

Yes the dominion will be in this release. With the Breen. With the Cardassians.

Player portraits will be fixed. In fact i am doing that right now.

Ship pictures will be fixed too. we had some ship pictures in wrong slots.

Strike craft will be in, but only the feds will have models ready for them. The Perregine, and Venture scout will represent the Bomber/fighter. The rest of the factions will use vanilla models for now. Updated Stats will be added later as well. The strike crafts sole purpose for 0.4e is to tied up weapons fire, and harrass fleet formations. At least for this update. We will work on better stats for the 0.5 update. We need to determine how much of a role they should have since trek was not about strike craft.

I agree with you that Trek wasn't fighter concentrated, but I do think that any ship labelled "Bomber" should still be able to do "some" damage (kind of as if there wasn't any vessels around, a flight of bombers should be able to take on a single frigate class ship and win).  That way they seem like they are worth the resource investment.

Obviously fighters should be there to take out bombers, so no change in their format should really be necessary.

First off love the new mod, my only issues are with the original game and thats why it ranks behind the origninal SOA mod I want 3D movement and control back.

Second I have been looking around trying to find all the old HW mods I used to play and can't find the old Honor and Glory.

Finaly for old times sake

The pirates need to be able to lob gigaton level coffee beans. :)

Was taking up half of a forum page for that display really necessary? or do we want yet another 2000 page topic again? Tone it down a bit. Not that i dont appreciate the enthusiasim. I am just being consrvative. Besides all that yellow hurts my eyes.

SoA is the only HW mod i have besides the incomplete Innocence, and Wrath, and Beyond the Final Frontier. Which i wont upload because they are incomplete. Try contacting Dolphoenix at the TGU forums and see if he still has Honor and Glory.

I got the researches and abilitys incorporated today and the foundation will be updated later. I need to add the abilitys to the ships themselves, and the cloaking ability as well. It is not the same as the OS release which is why we gotta add them. Then i have to go over every ship and make sure the ship stats match up to the list i have.

The UI is taking longer than expected i was wxpecting it to be finished today. I am only 1/2 done. I am redoing all of the build menu, and hud icons, because the 0.3e versions original textures got corrupted somehow. Dont ask me how. It seems i am damned to redo things over, and over again. If i have a light day at work tonight ill finish them up.

I'm just finishing up rewatching the Final Chapter of DS9, and hot damn I can't wait to play some battles like this

As long as I've been a Trekker, my favorite species has always been the Romulans.  And don't get me wrong, I'm quite excited to play as them

But lately I've become incredibly infatuated with the Dominion, and I'm really looking forward to..spreading peace, order, and prosperity throughout the Alpha Quadrant

My first order of business will be to play me as Dominion vs The Allies, possibly with another Dominion faction on my side

And I have to say this once again.  This is truly the best Star Trek game I've ever played, full games included.  So thank you guys for all your incredible work.  If there's anything I can ever to to contribute, please let me know!

I just have a question about tactics with the mod.  I don't know if this is the right place to ask it, but I was wondering how you guys use the Defiant.  It is nice that it doesn't use many command points, but it still takes capital ship crews, so I'm not sure in what way to use it.  I was also wondering how you guys decided whether to use frigates or cruisers (asuming that you have everything researched)?  Let me know what you guys do.

I'm loving the mod.  Great work Stress and crew!

another question is when u bring fighters and bombers in

how can we destroy them ? since i never saw a flak station on any ST ship

i kinda dislike the strikecraft idea .. besides it slows the game extremly down if you play on a huge map with 8 factions an each has maxed out fleets and about 20 planets with about a total of ~40-50 tradeports :D

If the plan hasn't changed, every or almost every weapon on any or almost any ship will be able to fire on strike craft.

Merry Christmas all. and the most humble of apologies, because i could not finish 0.4e in time for a release today. There is still much to do (most of it in the UI) so the original plan of mid january is still in effect. I didnt want to rush this, and screw it up like the 0.3 series. I would have posted sooner but of course the sins boards were busted :/

I wouldnt recommend playing as the Dominion just yet, because there is still much we need to add to them. Like voices, music, UI stuff, etc. They will make good AI opponents however. If you do play them just understand they arent finished yet.

All ships will have at lease 1 weapon type that can fire at strike craft. Mostly the beam weapons, because i wouldnt waste a perfectly good torpedo on a fighter. This is why for right now the fighters, and bombers will be mostly useless until we can get the stats down. However they will be useful in tieing up weapon fire, because most if not all of the ships will fire on the fighters before they fire at anything else. The number of strike craft per wing will be maxed out at 3. Plus ships cant build more than 1 wing. exept for the carriers which max out at 3. Only the elite units can build them. So there wont be many strike craft on the maps. Which shows how deminished their role is.

For the mod the Defiant will be used just like any other elite unit. It is a combat escort. So use it as one. Back up a Galaxy, or Sovereign with it, and dish out the pain. When we had it in the cruiser slots it became excessive overkill, because the AI would jump in 20+ defiants and the fight would be all over.

Again sorry i couldnt get it out to you guys today, but we will try to get it out soon.
