Hello Distant Stars players!!!

We are pleased to start promoting a community around the mod we love to create and you love to play!

This topic is to help promote online play. No matter what you play, PvP, PvAI or PvPvAI! We will be having regular game times for everyone to gather and join up playing Distant Star!

The meeting place for setting up any Distant Stars game is currently Channel 'Distant Stars' on ICO. Once your there feel free to set up games among each other! Another thing we would like to promote is using Distant Stars in your game name. For example here are some game names: Distant Stars 1, Distant Stars 2, etc etc. You are all smart people. :P

A Quick Rundown:

Teamspeak:

We have recently started using Teamspeak to exapand the fun we can have. We encourage you to drop in and socialize with us! Any questions about the status of the channel can be directed to -Ue_Carbon.

Feel free to post up game time beyond the current set times, and letting us know your ICO name so we can add you to the list!!! We will hopefully see some of you ingame!!!

 Warning:

Be sure to turn your graphics settings down to lowest and turn off all of the special effects like bloom and skyboxes...  You're dealing with net traffic and other people's computers so to avoid unnecessary desyncs or disconnects, do your part and turn everything down.

We also suggest you Trim your Empire Tree to reduce mid-end game lag. Play with only the minimum ammount in your Empire Tree as you need!

My mouse is "under construction"

and I am having difficulty getting it back together again

It's a Logitech Wired Trackman Wheel, the old kind from the 1990s, and it had left button failure and usb cable failure...

I disassembled the whole thing and stripped back the wiring, but I can't find the correct replacement crimp nubs, and to boot, the replacement button that I got is the wrong polarity!

this stinks

I can't play Sins without my trusty mouse!

If I can get it working again, I will probably be up for gamez tonight...

I just download your mod, pretty cool expansion to sins. How active is the multiplayer? I would like to join in for a game, though 4x isn't my strong suit -.-

The multiplay has kinda dropped down. Flip side is that we are easy on rookies.

That's because we're modders.  Think of us as rookies who never got good because we decided to constructively cheat by changing the game to fit our play style better.  ;P

 

But yes, when the DS group/groupies get together and play, its more fun and random banter back and forth then actually trying to win at all costs.  The perfect environment for new players to learn what not to do.  =D

And people are on randomly even when there isn't a game going just to talk about modding in general or other stuff (I've streamed music over TS for several days before), so its not just a DS channel or a game channel, though should it be required, those channels could be set up.
