Gal Civ - Dread Lords

I'm really new at this so please bear with me.  I'm hoping i'm in the right place for my question.  My problem is that i initiated an alliance with the Yor, a minor race of bad guys.  Trouble am having is breaking off the alliance.  Have searched throughout the screens and the instruction manual and can find no way of addressing the issue.  Have even parked a fleet of ships and troop carriers near their only planet to try and provoke the AI.  Is their no place in the game to break the alliance.  With the three other major races i am up against, i can do it since i've not made an alliance with them or any of the other 14 other minor races.  Just the Yor.  And since they are in my neck of the woods i want to start with them.  Any help would be appreaciated.  Thanks!

Send your fleet to attack their planet. Invade them, and it will be done.

No more Yor, no more alliance.

Thanks for the quick reply.  That was one of the first things i tried with my warfleet was to try and invade their planet, as well as knocking out their few assets such as ships and their one mining gem in space.  No matter which ones i attack a message keeps popping up saying that i have to break the alliance first.  Can find no mechinism in the game for breaking alliances with minor races like the Yor.  I figured if the game provided something to click under the details section for making alliances there should be something for breaking them also.  But can find no options for it and it doesn't allow me to attack, planet ships or any other of the Yor assets till i break alliance i've made with them.  I've tried to irratate them in the demands to them over and over and threatened them with large fleet and troop carriers alongside their only planet and mining gem.  Any solution or a place in the game where i can deselect my alliance with them?  Any thoughts, thanks!

No, there is no provision in the game to break an alliance with a minor.

You could always try to bribe another race into attacking them.

Of course, this will put you at war with the other race, but it really is the safest way to do things.....

Don't you have the opportunity to turn down going to war, at the expense of a broken alliance?

Well, I don´t know what version of DL you play, (or to what race you refer as the Yor are not a minor - the "Dark Yor" are...) but in 1.53 you can break an alliance by toggling the "break alliance" button which you will find in the first "foreign relations" screen. It´s to the left under N-1´s face. If you are not into an alliance this button then is the "trade embargo" button.

Hope this did help.
