Hosting issue, Even enabling Alloy doesn't help...

I've lately gotten back to playing sins, but noticed i wasn't able to host,  even with Allloy enabled


I've recently got a new PC (it DID work on my old PC,  but started having trobules the last few weeks, trying it on the new PC got me the same problem... so i posted here :P)

Enabled ports 6112 / 6000 UDP + TCP to my new PC
Disabled firewall
both of these didn't help me (alloy should bypass any annoying router issues.... so maybe there's something else i overlooked ??

anyone has a tip to help me out :P?

Allloy broken.  Some routers need port triggering as well

I can host without a problem, but I also invested about 10 hours into setting up port fowarding and flashing my router and even had to talk to The Monk on voice comm.

Could of done it for you in about 1 min

Maybe 10 minutes.  The router's firmware (a Netgear) needed to get flashed in order for me to be able to host.

Glad you came back to Sins and that you were able to get this resolved.  Isn't that damned annoying, though, to have the issue be "solved" without your knowing what the heck the problem was in the first place and that it won't come back?

havent played in such a long time >. .>

yes it's very strange indeed, i was going to play with a friend one day and he asked me to host,  wanted to show him that i couldnt.. but there i saw his name joining my public game,   and then a second random person joined..... imagine my face ;)

still no idea what the problem was.. happy its gone but... well...  no idea.. what it was :/ 

 

oh and apologies to mister Monk... i shouldve atleast thanked for the offer back in february.... >. > lol

Umm. I'd like halp if people still view this thread. New computer and new belkin router here. Any support would be appreciated. I'm tech savvy by the way.
