Narmoth's ring bugged?

I couldn't purchase Narmoth's ring. I had the money and a slot open but it was dark. The only artifact I had was the speed wand, can you not own both?

Narmoth's ring uses armor slot (not consumables), maybe you already had 5 armors?

I'll bet that was the issue. There are armor slots and consumable slots - wand of speed occupies a consumable slot, but narmoth's ring is an armor spot.
