I'm hoping he was being sarcastic. That or he never played games of that era. Intro rocks and should totally be left in as an optional opening for the release version.

I made a backup of the movie (Stardock\Elemental\Movies\BetaIntro.bik, needs RAD Tools to play), so I can watch it even after they remove it from the game
Yes I think the OP was joking, the intro gave us all a great laugh as did the test on the title screen.
I to however hope they sometimes change it on other releases to something equally fun.
I also hope the OP wasn't serious. I found the intro to be wonderful. If you don't like it, you can always hit esc/space to bypass it.
Or set the option to skip it everytime, but that doesn't seem to work yet 
intro was wonderful, an easter egg for old people who play games from ages! Stardock knows is customers!
Maybe every beta stage could have a new intro that reflect the passing of time in videogames (now i'm asking alot i know!)

I have to say that so far the intro has been my favorite part of the game. I just started, but I watched it a few times already just because I love it so much.
Please keep it! More as beta progresses would be great too, but please keep them for final as some easter egg, or maybe an unlockable at least.
