What ya thnk?

Who's getting it?! I think it comes out soon unless it already is out, not sure.

Anyway...

Demo is awesome but difficult but overall I'm def getting this game.

Anyone else a fan and/or had the original?  Ah the memories when I was a child and thought those Priestesses were hot...

I just played the demo for about 3 hours.  Interesting game, but,  they only put 2 scenarios on the demo; the first is a cake-walk tutorial, the second seems to be an almost impossible, wave after wave, hair pulling fest.  Not sure if I'm just a noob with this game, or it's really that hard.

They were two extremes, and compared to the orignial, they seemed to make 2 more RTS and a management of dealing with waves and waves of mobs.

The demo is a terrible representation of the game, IMO. I got it off impulse. The campaign (at least the earlier missions) are much easier, and it scales up. There are a few singleplayer non-campaign missions, but no sandbox. Also no co-op multiplayer vs. the AI. I so want these features.

That, and the hero and monster AI absolutely suck. A non-programer like me could have written better AI. This was clearly a low-budget, low quality game by people who didn't play the original Majesty. Agree that it's much more of an RTS. But fix the AI, and add sandbox and co-op multiplayer, and this is a great game. Apparently Paradox is making the Russian developers scramble though, so I wouldn't be surprised if these features do get added. Hard to wait though.

I'd say I'm a game.   I bought Majesty 2 because I was feeling down, and man... it picked me right back up again.  (thats when you know you've got a good game)

Yeah, the demo basically had the easiest level (tutorial) and hardest level (not even in the game) as the examples.  I guess the idea was to give the entire spectrum of what to expect from the game.   (I feel they should have made it more clear that it is intended to be insanely hard)

They should have done a third, middle of the road mission for the demo, but then again, 3 campaigns would be what 20% of the game? It seems pretty short from what I hear. Still, the demo was fun for me to play and I would have bought it IF they had what  Beric mentioned, sandbox, co-op and a competent AI for the heroes.

The AI isn't so bad ! You just have to use well your flags. And I didn't encounter strange behavior, like a hero not defending himself while he is attacking a den.

And even if the game is short, it's just plain fun. The fixed locations for temples and caravans bothered me at first, but now that I'm accustomed to it, it's a great idea.

This game is good ! And hard. Not too hard. Just hard. And that's a good thing. When you get the hang of it, the "so difficult" mission in the demo isn't so difficult. It's just a matter of learning the tips and trick.

I have never ever been a fan of do it this way or loose type games except for adventure/puzzle games. The original Majesty gave you flexibility, although I beet the survival mode in the other, I felt forced to do it just their way or the highway.

I agree that majesty 2 is less flexible than the first one. But there still some possibilities to vary tactics. Even the survival test can be won with several ways, the only thing you have to do is to destroy asap the ogre's lairs, then you can choose how you'll prepare for the bearmen.
