Sins is dead?

Sins is dead?

So is it safe to say sins is le caput? I come here once in a while now and it seems like nothing is happening.

I hope IC has just given up on the Expansion and is putting resources into a sequel!

Systems instead of planets!!!

Yeah, somewhat amusing. :)  But I can see where both sides are coming from.

It's a learning experience.

They'll be launching it at PAX.  All the videos and stuff will be here as well.

Looking forward to PAX now.  What are the dates for it?

It's sick how one has to post links to other sites on the sins official forums to actually provide the users official info on this game.

My apologies for your time, I am at work and can't check these things from here :)

Behold! It is a Craig Fraser! And he can talk! Good! Say something about once a week Craig, so we know IC is still there.

Only devs I know who play their cards closer to their chests than you guys at Ironclad is ArenaNet. This new expansion must be the GW2 of space games!

He wasnt complaining about needing to post the info for you, he was complaining that you need to post an outside link for official info, so users on the official website can access the official info, get it?

and btw, i completely agree, entirely senseless/stupid

Sins isn't dead, it's just terminally ill with illumspamitis and in critical need of rebalance bypass surgery

Call me crazy, but you don't actually have any info still...

Good to hear a bit of assurance from the devs.

Keep working hard at whatever you're doin'....I'm sure it will be great in the end. Time isn't making me stray from SINS...good games don't disappear of your HD after a few months.

What do you recommend for balance?  I still see lots of people--including many skilled and experienced players--playing Vasari and TEC all the time in the online multiplayer game.  If you nerf the Illumiantors then you would be removing one of the core reasons for playing Advent.

Some people just don't like playing as maniacal girls who share their mental issues with neighbours instead of sugar.

I, for one, prefer maniacal aliens who share terror and take their neighbours into slavery.

Even though they relatively suck right nao, if not for the EGG.

If illums are the core reason for playing advent then that alone shows how serious this needs to get rebalanced. People play vasari because you need someone to keep the nutrals and i rareley see any real skilled people playing TEC.

Yup, Advent can't be balanced just by nerfing illums; without them an Advent player would never survive against TEC or Vasari because of a lack of combat ships.

Disciples are squishy, and Destras are late game. The Advent NEED the illum, just as the vasari need phase missles...

thats not quite what I ment. Illums need to be nerfed right now they beat HCs. even with a slight nerf advent will have a better lrf than the other races and it can be more balanced. right now illums have more HP and dmg per ship slot than HCs and they have more HP than vasari who should have more HP than advent who are sheild dependent.

Even when carriers were strong in 1.1 there were still people who played advent and the races were played pretty evenly. now about 75% of the people in skilled or regular games play advent.

Nert the Illums and get ready to see a whole lot more people playing Vasari.

Are you saying that you think the hot Advent chicks are PMSing?

I still think we need to find a way to get more ladies to play this game.

Either that or you'll actually see the elusive Destra Crusader (gasp!). Yeah sure you'll see more people playing Vasari and TEC, but thats only because Advent won't be as easy to cream people with. There are currently 2 types of Advent Player; the type who really like Advent for their sleek ships, cool synergies and culture pwnage, and the type who were so sick of being obliterated by illum spam they had to switch to Advent and do the same just to survive the first half hour of a game.

I fell into the later category for quite sometime. Now though I'm quite fond of Advents other nifty features. Cap ship synergies are awesome (I revel in the difficulty of pulling off a CB+Malice combo, and feel so badass when I do). The only thing is I don't ever have to use Destras. Ever. Because Illums are stronger, can live longer (thanks to illusions and repulse) and way cheaper to replace.. They need to be nerfed so their power lies somewhere between assailants and enforcers. Currently theyre on par (or better) than Kodies, which is ridiculous.

There is 1 way to beat an illuminator spam, and its quite ridiculous as well. Spam flak. Pretty much you've got two kins of fleets flying around in a game. Illums and flak. Thats IT! Nothing else can stand up to illums that early, and the only reason Flak do a decent job at it is because disciples are not common (and weak as geeks), flak are loaded with health and can target more than 1 illuminator at a time. But flak aren't meant to kill lrfs. Theyre meant to kill fighters, and to a lesser extent bombers.

Im not saying illums should be weak at all, jsut weaker than they are now, because currently they steamroll 95% of lrf heavy fleets, taking minimal losses (almost as if they were just plowing through a fleet of lfs) and have the momentum to continue.

Point is, unit spam isnt healthy for any game its like a friggin disease, (illumspamitis, good one) and needs to be cured.

I was actually starting to play Advent a bit before I went into exile (again!).  It is so relaxing to just fly my luminator / flak fleets around...kind of like when you zen out while mowing the yard.  With the other races you really have to work for it sometimes.

The downside is you have to listen to the chattering of angry girlscouts buzzing in your ear ..... "All shall buy our Tagalongs in Time!"
