3. OK, I dunno what the OP was thinking. As a politician, Obama has to make some form of diplomacy. Bowing is a sign of respect in the middle east that surpasses the handshake. You didn't complain when Bush kissed the Saud, did ya?

4 & 5. The healthcare system is so broken that a family friend of mine could not qualify for healthcare to treat her cancer without divorcing her husband (whom, I might add, she was happily married to.) So her options are divorce or death? For such a rich country, we need some serious work in this area, and maybe Obama can do that for us, unlike previous presidents.

Perhaps you meant Norway, since the last i checked we don't have any sort of oil deposits. We do have a lot forest though, but the forest industry has gone to shit lately. Oh, and the socialised healthcare works pretty good around here :)

Political debate usually isn't about trying to convince the other person, it's about convincing everyone else that's listening in. If he has this list, and you say "It's wrong, but I won't bother saying why it's wrong", then where does that leave you in the eyes of everyone else?

Finally, some intelligent conversation! Very well, I will explain this little bit of oddness:

  1. That was congress. And weren't the people agitating for the bailout conservatives?
  2. A lot of that deficit came from Bush. The Obama deficit is a small part on top of that.
  3. Huh? Genrally, people bow for kings. It's a sign of respect. Would you have cared if the Saudi king camt to America and shook hands with Obama?
  4. Looks like you skipped a few words.... the healthcare system will have a TAX FREE option for people who want to use it.... and it's essentially impossible to eliminate a deficit w/o raising taxes.
  5. Ummm..... I don't particularly see how an OPTIONAL government plan constitutes "total control". Although letting the government run things might be a BIG improvement- it couldn't really be worse than my insurance company, which is only willing to pay for two bottles of insulin every month regardless of how much I use......
  6. For all the nonsense about the Census, you people don't seem to care much about a system to tag and inventory US residents..... plus the fact that it was a large and expensive project that probably wouldn't work anyway.....
  7. I never heard a word about this, but ASSUMING you didn't just make it up: that's not in Obama's power. This would be Eric Holder's job.
  8. Ummmmmm......... I don't quite get this. You're saying that he won't invstigate somebody who stole FROM A.C.O.R.N.? That sounds like something the McCain people would support.... remember, the original "story" was thqat ACORN was manufacturing votes for Obama... although what actually happened was people defrauded ACORN by claiming that they had registered voters that they hadn't..... and these fake voters obviously could not vote.
  9. And who filed these lawsuits? The anti-Obama people! And I have personally seen Obama's genuine Hawii birth certificate.
  10. Ummm....... as people have said, there is about a 60% error here..... and Cap/Trade is intended to forstall global warming (which people still deny exists despite all the facts and data), so a 40% hike to keep Florida out of the ocean a few days longer might be a good idea.

We went through this shit with my granddad.  He was convinced they actually knew what they were doing, even after they weakened his legs by not taking him off a muscle deteriorating drug when the side effects kicked in.  When we finally got him to go to another hospital for his irregular heartbeat, he ended up with an emergency surgery after they took one look at his arteries, his supposedly fine arteries.  Quintuple bypass for the win.  He went and had a heart attack on the way in too.  The VA sucks at actually telling you that you're about to die because you have an easily treatable problem they've ignored for four years.
There's a difference between military health care and the VA.  I use a private insurer now and would only go to the VA as a last resort, but the VA has poor funding and the private insurer plan isn't meant to be government run health care anyway.

Well you can still go live in the wilds of Alaska if it bothers you so much.
