Incorrect Proxies Being Used?

As of 06/28/2009 I periodically get pings of 350-700 using proxies, but not to all players.

One or two players out of a 4v4 would yield a ping of 140-210 as usual.

Previously I would get pings of 140-210 to all US players.

Restarting my modem does not resolve this, nor does restarting demigod.

If I wait several hours the issue seems to go away. Unfortunately it randomly comes back.

I'm wondering if its trying to connect me to proxies at incorrect locations, say europe or asia, instead of US.

Hiya, I just wanted to say I've been having this problem as well.  I'm in Kansas City (well, 10 miles west anyway) and I'm using timewarner.  Ping's very solid with NAT and direct connections, but the proxies are causing issues for me.

Also I'm not sure that it's necessarily the wrong proxy that's being picked because 700 seems too high for just that.  I hopped in a euro game just a moment ago and I was under 220 with all the non-proxied players.

I've noticed this too, starting last night. In most of the games I join now, I get 1 proxy connection with ~500 ping.

Happening to me and several other people who I was playing with as well. Can't really play right now without continually rejoining till it doesn't use AU proxies for anyone.

Same deal, a couple out of many players, roughly 600 ping.

Same issue here. It's quite upsetting to have a 600ms ping to a fellow country man, using the same ISP as me.

Jeff did find the cause, but it needs some changes on GPG's end before the fix can be rolled out.

The problem seems to be gone on my end kryo, not sure if anyone else her is still having problems, but the post is a bit old and it seems like it's been working fine for me since a day or two before the fourth of july weekend.
