Why is Karma different between sites?

I was looking at the SINS forum and the Impulse forum today and noticed my Karma count is different.  Not that I care took much about karma but I did think it was odd.

Karma on IMPULSE

Karma on SINS

I think that this happens because stardock use different databases with bridges

To keep Zubaz on his toes and make him work for it.

And to stop me from ruling the forums, apparently.

But no, the real reason is that karma was intended as more of a pat on the back for being helpful and it makes sense to keep it separate since "explaining how to use Vasari phase gates" would make sense on the Sins boards, it wouldn't make sense to someone who only has Demigod for example.

You only see the karma on any one site that was given in the forum categories that appear on that site.

Why is there so much evil in the world if god is omnipotent?

There's a lot of questions in the universe we cannot answer. This is one of them, it seems.

:p

The universe is one crappy psychic, too.

Go for it, you have 0 karma here. And it can't go negative, anyway :)

Addendum: for karma earned in a site-spanning category like Off-Topic, you won't see any karma on a specific site until someone gives you karma from that site. Then all your 'non-specific' karma will appear along with any karma from 'local' threads.

For example, one of Brad's nicknames (I forget which) showed 0 karma at Elemental when the site launched last November. But that number instantly jumped much higher after he got his first karma point from someone at the Elemental site. The difference was from his karma for site-spanning topics.

Annatar, you know better than to say "here" in a thread like this. There's no there here, or no here there, or something like that... ;P

Well, he did say Demigod forums, so I figured the 'here' had an implied meaning ;)
