Windowblinds 7 Beta

A very fast version!

I installed this super fast version of windowblinds 7. It was released about an hour ago, but you had to be fast to catch it!

It appeared very briefly as an update in Impulse, only to suddenly disappear leaving behind a trail of toxic waste!!  If you see this update, do not come in contact with, or attempt to install it! Severe radiation burns and melted windowblinds may result!! Image below is what it did to my rig!!!  Beware!!

See what happens when you try weirdy OS's with WB? Why couldn't you just stick with the best OS (WBOS)?

I'm suspecting it was the 7CC (Curried Cabbage) perversion.

And just how did you get Tracer WB in your WB Config, young man?

If you did not get the beta for WindowBlinds 7, you aren't missing anything.  No new functions, same GUI and no new skins.  Must be all internal tweaks trying to make it compatible with Win 7.  It was probably not meant for public release.

I got it on Vista. By the time I went to 7, it wasn't there. I came back to the post, and it was nuked. It didn't work on Vista for me.

I think support for Windows 7 qualifies as a new feature O:)

A lot of old skins are a bit broken (in the same way skins for XP sometimes broke on Vista), but otherwise it's pretty nice. Not all skins play nice with the new taskbar, but overall Neil did a pretty good job using parts from Vista.

I want it!!!!   I suppose they will repost?   o_O :S

Since it was a beta for WindowBlinds 7 you would expect some compatibility with Win 7.  My comment about no new functions was really talking about the GUI itself.  I didn't find any problems yet with it and Vista 64 bit, but then I'm not looking all the hard.

Beta 1 is all about Windows 7 compatibility.  Beta 2 is where new things show up for XP/Vista users

I understand there was an impulse issue which is why the build went away, hopefully that can be sorted today and it will be put back up.

If you do encounter older skins that have issues on Windows 7, please let us know so we can investigate if there is a way to improve them.

BTW the Leo skin has some new taskbar buttons in Windows 7 (mouseover them), and Diamond and Aero Metal are showing off the Windows 7 resizing startmenu.

RedneckDude: It should have worked on Windows Vista just fine (it uses the same files as Windows 7)

Neil, I should be ashamed of me. It loaded with a windows 98 taskbar, I freaked and ran system restore, rather than trying to mess with it. I was still frustrated from the MyColors World of Warcraft fiasco. Sorry.

BTW, this thread was intended as a joke. :-"

IRB...click on the orb in the top left of Impulse and check to see if you have show pre release versions checked.

(this is from memory so it may be worded a little different)
