Lag Spikes

I have a quad core 2.66 GHz 6 GB RAM GeForce 7950 GT 256mb. Whenever I play the game, it runs smoothly on medium settings and I have no other problems. My video, processor, MB, and ethernet drivers are all up to date, and I have no firewall but I do have a router. When I am in the game lobby, the pings are all around 100 ms for me, however when I go in game, I keep causing these bad lag spikes once every 3-5 seconds or so that make the game RMed. This does not happen to me in any other game. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Try to remove the router from the equation.

I had similar symptoms due to duplicate IP on my subnet, so you might want to check that too.
