DEMIGOD TOURNAMENT

DEMIGOD TOURNAMENT

Unofficial

Tired of you and your buddy steam rolling newbs? Tired of people quitting mid game? Tired of not knowing how good your team actually is because you can't remember the last time you had a challenging match, and when you did have a challenging match, the game crashed and you couldn't finish it?

DEMIGOD TOURNAMENT

Format: Bracket style tournament, SINGLE elimination.

When: Starts May 21

Prize: Absolutely nothing except the joy of playing matches against skilled people.

2v2 Or 3v3

Submit your team in this format if you are interested:

Team Name

Player 1 (*)

Player 2

Player 3

* denotes contact person for your team

Accepting 2v2 or 3v3 submissions. Any player can be on multiple teams, but only 1 team for each format.

RULES

Matchups are 1 game.

Single Elimination: you lose you go home.

Conquest & Default settings

Matches will be scheduled for 3 days. (For example, if bracket/matchups go up wednesday night, you have, thurs, fri and sat. Results must be in by the end of saturday night) If all matches for the round are completed, next round will be scheduled ahead of time.

Each round will be played on a map.

Map rotation for 2v2 is: Cataract / Prison

Map rotation for 3v3 is: Cataract / Leviathan / Exile

"Home" team will ready up first.

Team contacts will schedule their match with each other. Prefered playing time is EST 6:30pm-1am. But match time up to team contacts.

Your team has the right for 1 restart of the match on disconnect or crash, as long as: a- you have proof of crash/disconnect (screenshot) b- you were not losing the game. (if you are winning and the other team drops take a screenshot and you can argue that you were already winning)

I will be final word on any disputes. But there shouldn't really be any.

We cannot proceed with playing this tournament while a member of our team gets banned for no reason.

I've tried to get Frogster to reverse his decision for the past 48 hours but all he does now is ignore me, and apparently ~40 more people got "banned". Considering the absolutely weak justification for Warskull's ban, I have to doubt they got fair judgement either.

Maybe we can try this again when, and if, some reason prevails.

[xvx] (tw0str0ke+Kriptanik) defeats More Cowbell (N3va3h+Brigadiereous)

Unfortunately due to connection problems Zephyr1234 couldn't play so he replaced himself with N3va3h (his 3v3 partner). So the game commenced with N3va3h (Regulus) and Brigadiereous (Undead Beast) versus Kriptanik (Rook) and tw0str0ke (Sedna).

We had a great time once the game was under way and we sympathise for the connection issues. Hope to play you guys again we learnt alot from our game, hopefully you guys took away some new tactic/knowledge also.

Cheers,

Andrew (tw0str0ke)

He joined the game and said "hi I have a question." followed by "When oak turns white, does that mean he's dead?"

If that's not grounds for kicking someone, I don't know what is.

Ok, while I realize that you have never been bad at anything in your life, that were never a n00b, have always been the greatest player ever and know everything about every game ever made instinctively, some people simply don't have the good luck to be as amazing as you.  Being a n00b is not grounds for kicking.  Period.  Ever.  Everyone starts as a n00b, and the way you get better is by playing good players, getting stomped, and then asking what happened.  I realize that, because you are so awesome, you've never had that problem, but some of us really appreciate a little help along the way as we learn new games.  I realize that as a lowly n00b (reletive to the great KOREA that is) my opinion doesn't matter, but kicking someone because they're new is pretty much the definition of being a bastard.  It's why people say the DOTA community stinks, and what causes people to quit games before they ever get a chance to figure out how to play.  I know that you can't be bothered to come down to the pathetic level that we n00b slugs live at, but a little tolerence and understanding will go a long way.  Even on the internet.

This is pertaining to the 2v2 match Ramen Noodles VS. team KOREA.

Since my partner has been very busy this weekend and may not be able to play this first round. I'm most likely going to use a sub "Phoenix.14" We are going to play the match tonight at 10pm EST so if my original partner does not show up by then we will be using Phoenix instead. I've let KOREAslayer know about this and they are cool with it.

I don't start as a noob becaue being a noob is a relative term and I've never played a game that I started anywhere but the top 10% because my brain isn't full of misfolded proteins. I have coordination because my mom was kind enough to not smoke crack or slam a 6-pack of mickey's when I was in the womb.

I explore the game like cristopher fucking columbus and that's what makes the game fun for me. If you have someone spoon feed you the basics of how to play the game instead of trying to figure it out yourself then you epitomize the term noob.

Try playing the game.

Answering a simple question is hardly spoon-feeding. Is it really that hard to type yes or no?

Maybe I have arthritic hands and my fingers don't work so well. That would be pretty hard to type!

Korea, did I ever say that you were a n00b?  In fact, I distinctly recall saying positive things about how you aren't, that you're good at everything and have never been a bad player.  What I did say was that being good at something doesn't justify being a prick to people who are bad at it.  I was not intending to challenge your mad skillz (if I were going to do that I'd do it in the game not on the forum).  All that I said was that being the best doesn't give you a license to be socially inept and stuck up.  Some people are noobs, it happens.  The way to deal with them is not to kick them for trying to get better but instead to try and teach them so that maybe, just maybe, they'll get better and you won't have to deal with their n00bness.  We all know you're the best, I'm just saying maybe a modicrum of civility would be nice.

To the rest of you on this thread, I apologize for flaming, trolling, and hijacking.  I hope the tournament goes well and I wish I'd known about it early enough to join in.

I don't even remember, I had about 12 beers from the time UFC98 started until the end and that happened after the machida schooled evans. I think I lost a game last night but I don't remember playing as rook, but it's on my games list.

For me to allow you to simply ask a question that you could easily find out by just playing the game would hurt you more than help you. Being able to gather your resources first hand is a great skill that you shouldn't neglect and I would be a prick to allow you to not explore.

p.s. I'm still trying to get my 3v3 games schedualed and have all them on my buddy list but nobody is ever online. :/

If you look at my game list you'll see that most of them are named 3v3 no fucking noobs or 3v3 teams only. I think the real question is why you joined a game that you didn't qualify for?

Very interesting forum development.

All this flaming seems somewhat unnessicary. If there are any disputes over the game, settle them in the game imo. There isn't much use trying to "out whit" eachother in forum posts by constanty quoting something out of context and breaking down the content. Anyone can do that.

But, I must say KOREAslayer, I wish your mother taught you some manners.

I somehow doubt that...

As an addendum, I must say that my respect towards someone's playing skills is inversely proportional to their rudeness. I suspect that most adults are like that. I mean, the sort of chest-thumping by denigration might've garnered respect in high school but I believe (hope?) that most of us are beyond that mind-set.

Are you sure that you aren't mistaking si1foo for someone else, then? I mean, he has been playing for quite a while now and is a good player. I'm seriously 100% sure that he knows everything there is to know about whether Oak is dead or alive. He even plays that DG occasionally: http://pantheon.demigodthegame.com/game/370059/player/25071/
