Tired of you and your buddy steam rolling newbs? Tired of people quitting mid game? Tired of not knowing how good your team actually is because you can't remember the last time you had a challenging match, and when you did have a challenging match, the game crashed and you couldn't finish it?

 

DEMIGOD TOURNAMENT

Format: Bracket style tournament, SINGLE elimination.

When: Starts May 21

Prize: Absolutely nothing except the joy of playing matches against skilled people.

2v2 Or 3v3

Submit your team in this format if you are interested:

Team Name

Player 1 (*)

Player 2

Player 3

* denotes contact person for your team 

Accepting 2v2 or 3v3 submissions. Any player can be on multiple teams, but only 1 team for each format.

 

RULES

Matchups are 1 game.

Single Elimination: you lose you go home.

Conquest & Default settings

Matches will be scheduled for 3 days. (For example, if bracket/matchups go up wednesday night, you have, thurs, fri and sat. Results must be in by the end of saturday night) If all matches for the round are completed, next round will be scheduled ahead of time.

Each round will be played on a map.

Map rotation for 2v2 is: Cataract / Prison

Map rotation for 3v3 is: Cataract / Leviathan / Exile

"Home" team will ready up first.

Team contacts will schedule their match with each other. Prefered playing time is EST 6:30pm-1am. But match time up to team contacts.

Screenshot of results screen will serve as proof of win if there are any disputes.

Your team has the right for 1 restart of the match on disconnect or crash, as long as: a- you have proof of crash/disconnect (screenshot) b- you were not losing the game. (if you are winning and the other team drops take a screenshot and you can argue that you were already winning)

I will be final word on any disputes. But there shouldn't really be any.

I too agree with KOREA, also to add.

 

If your entire strategy, or your complete skill lies around the use of ONE favour item, you probably don't belong in a tournament. I sympathise with you if you use items that are buggy, in my experience, I have only ever used a couple because some are just complete peices of shit, the ones I have used have never been bugged.

 

I look forward to playing KOREA and the other people entered in this tournament, Kriptanik and myself have been looking for a 2v2 challenge for a long time. Havn't come across defeat in 2v2 yet. But, alas we have been playing on Gameranger mainly. I must also add, gameranger player skill is FAR better than anyone i've played on legit. So I fear this isn't going to be much of a level playing ground. As far as I aware the KOREA boys are the best competetion. But I don't know much about any of the other competitors.

I still await a reply from our match up...

default settings, favor is still on.

While everybody is bringing up good points, the fact of the matter is that favor is working for most people.

I checked those links.

1 - koreas post is hardly ridicule.

2 - ok w/e he sync joins pantheon. Who cares about pantheon? if he wants to go through the effort of sync joining, who really cares. I dont really consider this cheating.

3 - the fact still remains, favor points are on in the tourney. Most people in the tourney and on this forums have enough favor where they have the favor items they want, and favor is stuck, or their favor is working fine. I'm not catering the tournament to you.

don't turn this into a pissing fight with korea, and stop talking about favor points.

.... I don't know of any cheating that exists. I doubt players could use any kind of hax, the game is so buggy that interaction with third party software would probably crash the game and blow up your computer.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone in the tournament would be down for some practice 2v2s tonight? I should be on for most of the evening to add me to your friends list and PM if you wanna set up a game against myself and my partner who will be joining me for 2v2. Nothing serious, courteous games, I wouldn't even mind playing some theoretical build for you to test your skills against. etc.

Great to hear. I would also like to say GG to HotHotHeat, i think that was the best DG match we've had. Lol, look at the results screen above. that is a lot of flag captures....

 

On a side note, i think im convinced now that QOT just doesnt cut it in serious play. F that bitch, time to pick a new DG....

IMPORTANT NOTES / UPDATE:

 

due to some issues and conflicting schedule, i've decided to extend round 1, 1 extra day, you now have until 10am 5/25 to send in your score!

 

Winning screenshots aren't required, i just recomended to have them as proof. You arent required to send them to me.

 

For my match we had some problems connecting. If you have 2 people that just are not connecting, have one of them run the game with the /serverproxyonly switch. that worked out great for us (even after we wasted 30 min beforehand)

 

As an added benefit, be nice to the people you are playing against, I am hoping that opponents will friend each other and this will lead to great pickup games later on!
