Greetings From Singapore

I've just purchased Demigod from the Demigod website, and I'm obviously new.

Any asian players out there please give me a shout. :)

I've tried to connect online a few times (both for online skirmish and pantheon), but was not successful - at best I get a "trying to connect" screen and end up being kicked off. Do I need to disable my firewall to play online ?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

With tonight's update, I still can't connect to Panthenon (matchmaking service failed). I have the "serverproxyonly" command activated.

Try again when it's v1.01. That's what they're working on now with the NAT and Proxy fail safe on connectivity issues.

I've purchased Demigod for a week over and its quite frustrating to say that I've NEVER EVER been able to connect to ANY SINGLE online multiplayer game. Not the Internet, not LAN. I've never entered an online game lobby before. Its really really sad.

I guess I'm going to leave Demigod for another week and if nothing changes, I will just treat it as money well spent to learn to never ever buy anything from Stardock ever again.

Have you tried configuring your router, or used the /serverproxyonly command line argument?

I would give it more time if I were you. However, if you have really decided not to wait for the multiplayer to be patched up, you can contact Stardock for a refund of your game. See this thread.

:(

Can't play the game online with Singnet.

Tried everything from opening ports, firewall, /serverproxyonly

Hope 1.01 will fix the problem.

Why can't they o with the traditional Client/Server Hosting instead and play with p2p.

Haiz give so much problem.

It's hard to be positive about Demigod if one (like myself) can't connect online (I'm on Singnet too).

Personally, I have set a "soft deadline" for myself - if I find that I still can't connect after version 1.01 is released (hopefully within the next 2 weeks), then it's time to move on to something else.

On the single playerside (!), I've completed a tournament (normal mode) using Rook - he ends up being a god of creation.  :P

It's definitely disappointing and tough (on patience) when you've bought a multiplayer-centric game and can't play online. That said, CitizenKane2, if v1.01 doesn't improve things, perhaps you can request for a refund? Explain that it simply cannot work online for you. It would be sad to see you go though... :(

Thanks for the suggestion Sy. But I'm not really interested in a refund (even if patch 1.01 doesn't will fix my connection issues). :P Anyway, I still have Sedna to go for single player tournaments. :)

Maybe I'll go back to free yahoo games after this brush with Stardock / Gas Powered, even if it did force me to learn about port fowarding.

Thanks for the link, themadmanazn. Personally, I tried everything I could think of (I studied the Monk's documents, read up the guides on portforward.com, learnt about static and dynamic ip addresses etc), but still no dice. There was a period i could connect online, but the recent patches changed that.

Ah well. Wish me luck for single player tournament as Sedna ! :)

Well that's great, because as long as you still have the game, you can just pop back in after some time and see if it works then. :D

I can definitely imagine the multiplayer being made to work eventually.

Here's to hoping that this wait would be over sooner than later.

Some questions which have been nagging at me.

Assistance would be appreciated. :)

(1) How long does a totem of revelation last, after it has been put down ?

(2) Rook - How long does a tower (using power of the tower skill) last,  assuming no one attacks it ?

(3) Oak - How long does a raise dead ward last ? Is there anyway to target a raise dead ward ?

It will be nice if we can kaobei Singnet why we cannot connect when Starhub can connect.

Anyone on Pacnet?

You can connect or not?

You might wish to try to hold back on the Singlish since this is a public forum. o_O

So far, those of my Demigod buddies who are using Starhub don't have much problems with connectivity, but those from Singnet has them. CitizenKane2 actually contacted them about it before, I wasn't sure if he ever posted their response though.

Btw, CitizenKane2, I tried searching around and didn't manage to find the answers you seek. I think the best way to know might be to look at the Lua code.

Well on the single player side ... at least I now know that Sedna becomes a messager between the worlds and a compassionate queen. :P

Best of luck Kon45. :)

You really seem to enjoy playing Single Tournament.

Well, not really ... :P The AI's kinda predictable (and lacking). But there isn't much more to do (as I can't connect online), and the single player mode does give me a basic understanding of the Demigod's abilities.

Another question - how does Erebus' conversion ability work (to create nighwalker minions) ?

(1) Does the conversion ability only work on enemy creeps which are killed (or can nightwalker be created from friendly creeps killed by the enemies also) ?

(2) Does the conversion ability work only when Erebus is in the vincinity ? For example, if Erebus already has some nightwalker minions. Erebus sends the minions to lane 2, while Erebus stays in lane 1. If the minions kill creeps in lane 2, do those killed creeps have a chance to convert into nightwalkers, even if Erebus isn't in the vincinity ?

I guess I'm a bit confused about Erebus' conversion mechanics, having played Oak previously (his spirits minions are created in the vincinity of the spirit wards, even if Oak isn't around the wards).
