I've just purchased Demigod from the Demigod website, and I'm obviously new.

Any asian players out there please give me a shout. :)

I've tried to connect online a few times (both for online skirmish and pantheon), but was not successful - at best I get a "trying to connect" screen and end up being kicked off. Do I need to disable my firewall to play online ?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Here's what I propose:

All Singaporean players, when you log in, please visit the Chat window and type:

/channel singapore

This will take you to #singapore.

If the channel hasn't already been created, the first attempt to go to #singapore will create it.

From there, if all Singaporean players enter #singapore, we would at least be able to chat with all online Singaporean players at once. We would be able to ask each other to join our SG games.

The private channel handling is still a little flaky, so you might appear alone in the channel or the channel might appear empty. Just have faith and remain there anyway.

Sounds good. Will try it tomorrow when I finally get enough free time for a full Demigod game without needing to leave halfway through.

I have to say that the connection issues appear to have vastly improved (at least for me).

The past 2 nights I have been able to connect to Panthenon games (although it was a bit laggy).

Good to see this is still going on.  I got in a couple games last night and had a good time, though my team-mates were the silent types.

I'll be on the lookout for the #singapore channel and the singapore/asia games.  Hopefully see you guys soon!

I'm not sure that I'm willing to install yet another communication software, especially if it's just mainly for games. Hopefully, more Singaporean players will join #singapore or the devs will improve the in-game community features.

Please do install. It's very difficult to get in touch with players outside of the game. With Xfire, you can message any1 who's playing in any game and they can see ur message in their game. It's a neccessary tool for gamers.

Just dropping a note of thanks for last night's games. :)

It's a bit strange how in both games, one player dropped out (due to being disconnected) - and a "concede" button (expected by the end of June, I think) is a useful thing to have.

My Demigod crashed to desktop in yesterday's second game. It was a clean crash, no error messages. Good to know that you guys managed to finish that game.

This would still require the user to keep him/herself logged into XFire. At the moment, I'm content with the way it is since my games are mostly on occasion and irregular. I'm actually hoping that the Singaporean Demigod community would grow to the extend that SG games become as at least as AU games so that at any one time, there might be one or two SG games to join.

Hi everyone! Just got Demigod a few days ago and I've been reading the forums a bit. Glad to hear that there's a group close to home who play as well!! Would make the ping much smoother for sure. I'm trying to get a few of my other RL friends to get the game as well. Hope to see you guys online and on the #singapore channel on Impulse's IRC in-game chat.

Soo, I've not been on Demigod for half a week or so, and I have to admit I want to get back onto it soon, but am very discouraged due to the lack of Asian games, and getting kicked each time trying to join a US/AUS game.

Is there anyway that I can contact the Singaporean community in Demigod? Xfire seems decent, have used it. Any other ways to find you guys? Like adding me via MSN or something? I even don't mind giving you my HP no. just as long as you don't call me XD (I prefer SMS over calls to internet friends.. You get what I mean, LOL)'

In the meantime, I'm having a much better time on DotA has the Singapore player base is much MUCH larger. Oh oh and, TF2 and L4D is also incredibly fun on Steam xD.

Well, I've added most of you guys to Impulse. I have xfire but don't use it much. I have STEAM running all the time too so have all the communication channels to get in touch with everyone. We probably just need to choose one and everyone get on it. Ping's bad. Over in DoW2, game runs smoothly even on 300-400 ping. I don't know why the game goes so slow on those pings for Demigod. And I'm talking about playing with US players on all games....even L4D.

I went ahead and installed XFire and am surprised that it supports voice chat too. Pretty interesting. I'm beginning to like it :)

Hmm. I'll give Xfire a try tomorrow. I did use Xfire before and it is pretty handy, so I might install it again.

And wow, he's a young gamer with a lot of gaming experience indeed.

Hard to compare really, back in our day, the gaming scene was almost non-existent in Singapore.

Thanks Voodoo. Thats an awesome list. Added a couple of people from there and accepted all requests. Will start to turn my Impulse on much much more considering I use Steam WAY more.

Yeah, I've been playing with missing special fx all this while (I'm using a 7 series GeForce card) and 1.1 is reported to contain the fix for that. No more being unable to tell if a Demigod is Bramble Shielded or not. No more walking into Ring of Fire because I don't know it's there. No more Erebus disappearing completely.
