If this is news to you, I'm sorry that this is news.  Pfizer announced that they are merging with Wyeth.  About 20,000 jobs will be cut.  My dad currently works as a Sales Rep for Wyeth and if he is laid off, then I say pfuck Pfizer and pfuck America.  I just thought I'd share my opinion about this. 

Anyone who is associated with either company should feel free to comment.

My sister works for Pfizer as well and is in the same situation.  Why would you say that about America?  I don't understand what that has to do with this.  Nothing is guaranteed so to think any job is a sure thing and is the responsibility of the country as a whole is off base.

My Dad works at Pfizer... I worry about his job... at the most it will last 3 more years... but the way things have been going...

We do a lot of work with Pfizer at my company.  We have been expecting this for a while.  This is hurting us temporarilly, but in the long run it should be better for both companies.  Also the decline of the sales reps for pharmaceuticals is largely due to legislation that was passed by the US Congress in the last year limiting exposure to doctors by sales reps.  (This has been happening to all top 10 pharmaceuticals)

For the future this is a great move, and positions the new Pfizer to stay around longer.

About the only good thing I can think of to come from this is maybe they'll layoff some extra lawyers.

Lol, my dad will find out in April probably.  Looks like I'm working a lot more at Target than I hoped to over the summer....
