Mini dump Entrenchment (fixed)

Info I've been able to gather:

1.Doesn't seem to be a race specific

2.Occurs whether I play or let it sit.

3.Always happens at around 10 mins

4.Having updated drivers no change

5.Version of game is 1.1.2 prior to entrenchment update

6.If I rush to starbases it dumps the sec a starbase is built. Rather than at ten mins. (Ty Positiv)

For most, after some testing. I think if you lower just the building settings one notch you run ok. I put just the buildings to medium and i'm almost getting 1.12 performance. If you still get a dump lower them more.

I agree that this is substandard fix, but at least I can play.  |-)

Ditto

I actually was able to complete a single quick game (AWESOME NEW STUFF!), I enjoyed it so much I started up another game and I got the mini dump.  Had to reboot system to get through it. Tried several more times but no joy.  I'm now reinstalling all and will attempt again....

Windows XP SP3

AMD 64 Atholon x2 4000+

2 Gigs ram

Sapphire HD3850 AGP 512 DDR3

Audigy2

Note: All drivers up to date and nothing overclocked.

edit:

I got my problem working by shutting down my COMODO firewall software.   Well I've had no crashes yet.

Same here. I can't play more than 10 minutes, then it just crashes.

This happened on Window mode, so I changed to fullscreen mode. But it remains the same.

Playin on that :

Vista Home Premium SP1

Core2 Duo T8300 @ 2.4 ghz

4Gb RAM

GeForce 8600 GS

Base: Were running low on suit O2. Whats the word on the dump issue?

Same here. Started two games last night, both mini dumped 10 minutes in.  I'm going to run smart exception tonight and send all the information in to help IC/SD figure it out.  I'm running XP SP2 with 2 GB RAM and a way-too-old-to-mention graphics card.

Well me I am running XP Pro SP3 and it is running fine. How ever i have a fresh OS install that i installed just 1 day before entrenchement. Would suck if that would be a fix.

Base: Dead in the water here. x_x

Hey guys i think i have found a solution to this anoying problem, i just set bump maping to low and the rest of the graphics to high instead of highest and i played for a good hour without one crash. i hope this helps out:sun:

When it mini dumps it comes up with an error message, do we need to post this message, is it helpful for the devs?

When I went to my strike craft in my main fleet it crashed every single time. I think it's because of the new guys(mines) since I am playing advent this game. It's like it gives it a brain fart or in this case processing fart.

similar here.  I got through one playthrough just fine, but now it minidumps on startup.  XP Pro SP3, 2GB RAM, GeForce 8600 GTS.

When this happens right away, your most likely culprit is forgetting to upgrade to 1.12 before getting Entrenchment. If this is the case, try downloading both SINS and Entrenchment again.

OK, did uninstall reinstall to no avail. Then i started updating drivers to no avail. I have had very few mini dump issues in the past. Yes, I used impluse to update my video drivers. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. As yet to make it longer than 10 mins. I sent in my mini dump files.

Thanks for the files. Are you playing single player or multiplayer when this happens?

Both, It doesn't matter which race. Dump in 10. Also still an issue after hotfix. Me and a bud are experiancing the same issues. Can't play period for more than 10 mins. I have accrude more dump files if you guys want em. :'(

If you've already sent the 10 minute dump once, that should be good. Thanks for the email!
Your mission now is to try and determine what is happening at the 10 minute mark.

Same for me, I'll try, but all I can say if for now nothing special creats that.. It seems just that the game, no matter what, can't take it any longer after 10 minutes playing..

Even when i'm in the options it crashes.. So I guess this is coming from the game being played at the moment, but more by the game (Sins) itself..

Actually, I'm not sure this are dumps anymore.. Here is what I get everytime I try to play, after about 10 minutes.. (sorry its in french..)

Doesn't seem to be race specific. I have tried all the races. I've let it sit and run for 10 mins. I still dumps. I have some save files from the 10 min games. If you want em. I've ran out of thing I know how to do to try to make it work. As I have updated widows and all drivers. So any assistance in this area would be stellar.

I don't think it's a memory thing, because I'm showing over 1600 mbs of free physical memory. Though I still uped my power supply and optimized everything for gaming. The only firewall I have up is windows. No malware or spyware active. I don't use alloy. Thanks Monk for the networking class. If their is anyting more that can be done on my end. Let me know. I'll do it. Space Ponies need to come to my rescue. :waaaa:

Has anyone tried to play Sins with the developer exe from Forge Tools?

Another thing I noticed: the "10min crash" can happen even sooner if I build a starbase (observed in online game against one AI). Very strange...

I'll give that a try when I get home.
