Ironclad and Stardock are pleased to announce that the beta for Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment will begin Tuesday, December 16th.  Please note that all pre-orders will be charged tomorrow when the beta is made public.

Entrenchment requires the full version of Sins of a Solar Empire v1.12 and will only be available via Impulse (http://www.impulsedriven.com).  While the beta will be English-only, we expect the final release to be available in several other languages as well through cooperation with Kalypso.

Great news!

Time to do the timezone calculation again: if it's released at 4.00 PM, time here (GMT +2) would be 11.00 PM. Considering the time it'll take downloading and installing (how big is it anyway?), it's quite unlikely i'll have the time to see a starbase tomorrow. Stupid timezones! :)

On a more serious note. I pre-ordered both Demigod and Entrenchment at the same time. Will the entire bill be charged tomorrow or will I not get access to the beta? :grin: :annoyed:

Erp, as a group it'll be charged whenever the latest one is available. The Demigod beta 2 should be out on Thursday (hopefully), so that's when both will be processed. If you want to change it so you get your hands on Entrenchment sooner, you'll have to email [email protected].

Of course it will be :P The beta is supposed to be pretty much fully functional. The only thing I know of that won't be making it in this beta phase is the bonus trade route changes that Blair said they were using in another doohickey that isn't in beta 1.

The longest uninterrupted trade chain that gives the bonus trade income thing. It's being re-done somehow for Entrenchment, since IC admitted the algorithm for it in vanilla isn't that great. Blair said it's going to be a part of something new they're doing so it won't be in beta 1 of Entrenchment, but sounds like it'll be in for the final if not other phases.

The standard options are Paypal and credit card. They've been known to make arrangements for other pay methods, but you'll have to contact them at [email protected] to see what your options are.
