Something that’s made an impression on me is how many times I’ve seen people here bending over backwards trying to help someone who was being a complete ass.(as opposed to an incomplete ass which no one bothers with) I always wonder if said people realized or just went off thinking how horrible this place is.

I think I’m one of the vaguest people on the planet. What I wanted to say was; for those of you that try to help the above mentioned please don’t ever feel like you’re wasting your time. Those people may not be getting what you’re trying to tell them but others are and really appreciate your efforts.

Welcome to WC. I'm Glad you find the community to your liking. WC is a unique place as the members truely care for each other. Thank you for feeling WC is home enough to partake in the fun and become an active member.

Congratulations on the newest member of the Family. Teeny tots are the best part of the Holiday season, especially as they start to catch the excitement of the season. Looking at every thing thru their eyes helps us rekindle our own inner child and the joy the season held for us as Kids.

I've been to many forums, and this is the only one that doesn't flame or call people n00bs and what not.. it's full of decent, down to earth people that I grow to love more each day, glad I found my way here

Yes. The community is GREAT. ...

The forum itself though... Seriously, the one who set up all the cross-site-subforums and everything has made a total mess of it (I'd think it's different people over time rather than any single person though, the lack of any kind of structure suggests that) ... I try to read the stardock forum, wincustomize forum and the impulse forum... Geesh, I can't tell how annoying it is to tell them apart... They look exactly the same, they share forums partially, so content is basically the same too. Just enough different to make it necessary to visit all the forums.... I can't keep track of the threads I post, much less find information, as that's posted randomly over a dozen overlapping sitespecific forums...

But I still agree. This community really shines.

I remember early on, we had some trolls and flamers....yeesh, what a night mare that was. Jafo, BoXXi, and others made sure that they didn't continue. Ah, the early years......hee hee

I've said it before but "Welcome to the second happiest place on Earth". Since joining last Feb,I've learned things,laughed mao,made new friends from all around the world and generally enjoyed every minute I've spent here.The internet doesn't get any better than this.

Mikeko, at the bottom of every page is a link that marks all posts as read . . an that is site specific.  So I can read teh posts I'm interested in at wc.com . . then click that link and the posts I'm not interested will be marked on all the sites.  It makes life a bit easier.  Having said all that.  I like the cross posting. 

well...we're always nice to people in the first few weeks....get 'em sucked in....

I like the cross posting too, it's a great thing. But it's still a mess. There are atleast 3 different places where people post their questions about any single program.. I could understand that if the forums were NOT linked, but since they are, why is there a need for that?

Oh well, let's just say I don't think the layout of the forums is good, and leave it there.. It *is* christmas after all (soon).. And we are in the happy-place.
