Pausing

I have played a couple times so far and always get my arse handed to me by the computer.  Couple questions...When you choose "Unfair or Hard" under options for the AI is that "Unfair or Hard" for the computer or me?  I have chose both before thinking it will be Unfair or Hard for the computer therefore making it easier for me but I still lose.  Hopefully, I should have been choosing "Easy" for the computer all along because if the computer is beating me and I have had the advantage all along then I have a long way to go.  Second, you guys keep talking about using all these abilities and such(for Cap ships)and I never find time to be able to use anything....What are the buttons for slowing the speed of the game or pausing?....if there is a pause can you give orders on pause?

To pause the game, do not hit the turn button.

The difficulty level is how hard it is for you to win against the AI. The harder the difficulty, the smarter the AI is. And at the highest levels, like Suicidal, the AI is given bonuses to make it even harder for you to win.

I think he's talking about Sins.

Unfair and Hard are the computer difficulties-it's how tough the AI is.  Choose an Easy or Normal one instead, to start out.

I don't remember if you can give orders while paused (I think so), but you should be able to pause the game by hitting the pause button on your keyboard (no, really).
